    Great value and work great!
These are Great, and a good value. Some comments to address the most common complaint about the filters floating: #1. Unscrew the base and fill as much as possible with the included bio balls. #2 Fill the center chamber at least 3/4 full with bioballs. #3 Use hot water to get the foam to expand and squeeze out the trapped air when you first add it to the tank. Finally, #4 be aware that the bio balls are hollow and will have air trapped inside for a day or two. Either soak the bioballs overnight or just expect the filter to sink barely. Once the air escapes the bioballs, the filter will sink just fine.

    Works well for our tank.
Works great in our 50 gallon gold fish take. I have had a hard time keeping it clear. I tried many different filters of different sizes. I know it’s a little big, for the tank size, but it’s the only thing that has helped.

nice and big, comes with everything you need
I got these sponge filters for my 150 gallon aquarium’s back corners. Other aquarists swear by them and say that they are the easiest to establish a beneficial bacteria colony in (of the different types of filters), and they dont suck up baby fish or loose plants. Comes with everything you need except a pump. Will update if i see a vast improvement of my water quality. I presently. Have two big canisters and a good power head with attached charcoal holding body.

Decent Sponge Filter, But Not Without Flaws
Good product, but there are some quality issues. I got everything I needed, but the sponge arrived smushed. I used hot water to restore its shape. The air stone is a bit wonky. This sponge filter isn’t weighted—it’s designed to use the included bio media to keep it down, so you can’t use just any bio media. I wanted to use some Seachem Matrix so I filled up the bottom portion with small aquarium gravel to weigh it down.

Terrible design, they float great, if you like your filters floating.
Terrible design. Nothing other than filling it with rocks will get it to sink. It holds about 6 ceramic ring, those wouldn’t get it to sink. If you get it close to the bottom and then turn on the air, it floats again!!!!!! Also, they send tubing that doesn’t fit through the hole at the top. I tried a smaller tubing and it still didn’t fit. You’ll need some small diameter non-standard tubing if you’re going to try these. Don’t waste your money. I’m sending them all back.

    Great additions for large aquarium
The DVHEY 2 PK sponge filter is a excellent addition to my aquarium. I have a 48 Gallon tank where I keep my Oranda.I currently use HOB (hang on back) filters but reading about using sponge filters for goldfish I decided to give these a try. I have used sponge filters in my other tanks but never used these large sizes for my tank.So far the fishes are really healthy and the tank is very clear. So overall I am happy with these sponge filter and highly recommend for those with larger tanks.
