Small & Medium Fish Breeder Box Kit: The inner size of the breeder box is 5″ H x 3.2″ W, and the outer size is 5.7″ H x 3.8″ W. Perfect for breeding shrimp, betta, guppy, clownfish, platy, and other small aquatic species. This aquarium breeding box provides a safe and controlled environment for fish breeding and fry protection
Effective Fish Breeding and Fry Protection: This practical breeder box features two separate chambers, providing a secure space for parent fish to spawn and raise their fry. It prevents newborn fry from being eaten or attacked, significantly improving the survival rate of baby fish. Ideal for users looking to enhance breeding efficiency and ensure the safety of their fish
Unique Mesh Design for Efficient Water Flow: The upper plastic mesh with larger holes allows fry to easily fall into the protective lower chamber. The fine nylon netting at the bottom features needle-sized holes, allowing smooth water flow while securely containing the fish. This mesh design ensures optimal water circulation and prevents fry from escaping, making it perfect for delicate species like betta and guppy
Multipurpose Use for Fish Tank Separation: This versatile aquarium breeder box serves not only as a hatchery but also as a separator for aggressive fish or weak and injured fish. It provides a safe and isolated environment, protecting new fish or injured fish from being harmed by other tank mates. Perfect for fish that need a safe space to recover or adjust to a new tank
Floating Design for Easy Placement: With no suction cups required, this floating breeder box uses 2 foam rings to keep the box securely afloat at the water surface. The depth of the box can be easily adjusted by moving the foam rings up and down, giving you full control over the box’s positioning in the tank. This floating design allows for hassle-free placement and ensures that the box remains afloat without sinking

Nice Breeding Box; A Little Pricey
This box is a simple, elegant design. Each cylindrical chamber (the inner enclosure for the parents, and the outer one for the fry) has its own foam flotation ring which also serves to hold them in the proper relative positions. The individual rings can be independently adjusted to effectively resize the chambers as desired with respect to each other. The shipping box is as small as it is because there is some assemble required (see first pic). The foam flotation rings are wedged into the inner chamber. Once removed and allowed to regain their round shape, you slip them over the rims of each chamber. The chamber walls themselves are flexible, and the foam rings are slightly stretchy, so with a little care this is easy to do see second pic).I ordered the Medium size of this item, as I have small tanks for nano fish. Even so, I plan to trim the outer portion as it is still too tall for my usage. This shouldn’t be a problem as the material is thin, flexible plastic, and the foam ring should hide any uneven cutting I might do. Why cut them? Why not just adjust the flotation rings? Well, the fish I plan to use this with tend to spawn on the bottom. I’m going to weight down the breeding box and place aquatic vegetation in the inner chamber, allowing the parents to come in and out as they choose to lay their eggs. Looking forward to some successful breeding using this box, after a couple of “do it yourself” breeding box attempts which did not work out. While I think this breeding box is a smartly-designed setup, it seems a little pricey based on the materials used.

EXCELLENT
Great for separating the babies from the adults but I wouldn’t use it for the birthing part it stresses the mom

The material turns cloudy
I bought this product because I needed to keep baby shrimp away from the fish to not be eaten. It worked great for 2 days then it slowly started to get cloudier and cloudier. I tried cleaning it, scraping it and scrubbing it but it didn’t work. It’s not superficial because nothing worked. The material stayed like that. The fine mesh at the bottom it’s a great size for what I needed it but it doesn’t allow proper circulation of the water so you constantly have to renew and move the water to stay fresh.I wish this didn’t happened, I really needed it to work.

Works well!
This has worked well. In fact, I’ve taken off the bottom & allowed babies to fall thru straight into the fry tank.Well-designed piece.

Very Useful Fish Isolation Box
This floating aquarium isolation box is a great item to have on hand for many purposes. It works as a fast grab, easy to use place to pop in a fish that is sick, injured, or spawning. It is made of two floating tubes that fit together. This acts as a spawning container as the inner tube has holes in the bottom that allow fry to move to the outer tube and out of the way of a cannibalistic mother. The outer tube’s mesh bottom is fine enough to not allow fry to swim through, but will allow water to pass. This allows you to easily remove the inner tube, and thus the mother fish, after she has completed spawning. This container is small and low profile floating in a tank. It is well made and it seems to be durable. I would recommend this container to everyone with a fish tank!

Too small for most live bearers, but works great as a fish jail
This box is really small to be used as a breeder box. You could make it work for tiny live bearers, but it is not big enough for most fish to be comfortable long term. The pic included is of one of my pregnant live bearers and it seemed to upset her more than calm her.Where it does shine is as a temporary holding spot. I have used it as an overnight fish jail when I needed to separate one and it worked really well for that by removing the center core section and giving them just a little more room in there. I’ve taken the aggressive males and put them in (one at a time) temporarily to give the ladies a break. The build is decent and it does the job, floats well and separates fish from fry using the core insert, but just know it is on the small side. Great for short term use, not ideal as a dedicated breeder box unless you are working with very small fish.
