Everything I wanted in an aquarium light.
Edit: I’ve bought 4 of these now. 2 of the 12-14 for two 2.5 g planted aquariums. Also 24″ for a 15g planted shrimp tank. If I get another aquarium going I’m buying another. If I still have your attention here’s my review…Long read, awesome product, hope it helps your purchase. So far so good on my 55g. It has a smooth low profile, this thing is awesome. The 15 min ramp up is a slick move I bet my fish appreciate as well. No more dark tank to boom full lights. I set my tank for morning 5:30am and sunset 5:30 pm. The deep blue is awesome and I have the light also set to go 100% off for an hour. By 5:45 am the light is up to 100% of my desired intensity. It’s really bright at 100%, I have it at 60% and left the blue night setting at it’s default. Night time same deal 5:30 pm the light slowly dimms to the night mode over 15 min. By 5:45 pm night modes look it’s so cool too. Nice and dark but a little light to move around, fish seem happy and act normal. I have a somewhat soon to be heavily planted tank, it’s got some small plants but will grow to be pretty full when done. My plants are doing well, still young, responding to the light good. I may bump it up to 70% but trying it out slow. I am buying another soon for my other aquarium just have to pace myself haha. I’m still working and cleaning up my setup to how I want it. I haven’t noticed any algea spikes or blooms from the light at all. I clean the front and sides of my tank often. I am leaving the back for shrimp and others to munch on while my plants grow up more lol. The durability seems great and the light is solid. I move it around all the time cleaning, adding plants, everything and it hasn’t shown any problems. I looked at several lights, didn’t want to waste my time or money. This was my choice after looking around and im glad I made it. Follow the guide and dont let the set up timer stop on you for waiting too long. Remember the night setting takes 15 minutes for the transition to complete . I haven’t noticed any issues with water or moisture bothering the light yet. I wipe the lens weekly/bi-weekly because I have a little splatter here and there from the tank through my diffuser top. Super easy install 100% recommend.

Simple Setup, BRIGHT Light, Fully Adjustable
Really love this light because it is a great value and has everything I was seeking in a light. However, depending how you place this light, the control unit may be too close to the water. This was unexpected, because the overall power cord is over 6 feet long. In my case, I have provided a photo showing that with the light mounted to the top of my aquarium canopy, the control unit just barely extends out of the back of my canopy/back of my aquarium. In my case, I think this is just far away from my saltwater to prevent salt creep from forming on the controller. Also, if you use an aquarium canopy designed like mine, then the included brackets to suspend above aquarium will not work. My prior light was already attached to my canopy top, so we tied this light with coated wire to my canopy top’s prior light’s connectors (eye screws – not anything fancy). Setting the time was pretty straightforward, and the directions warn if you take too long on any particular field it will timeout. I did have that timeout happen to me during initial setup, but it wasn’t a big deal to start over that part. I love that my fish only with live rock (FOWLR) saltwater aquarium turns on and off on its own without paying an arm and a leg for traditional saltwater aquarium lighting. When the light is on, at 100% blue and 100% white lights were too strong, too bright for my foxface and copperband butterfly fish hid. I tried bringing the light down to 75% but when I got all the way down to 50% then my copperband butterfly fish came out from hiding. I’ve also enclosed a photo of my saltwater aquarium. On the clip is some macroalgae for my foxface fish to eat, and having this good lighting designed for plants will help that to grow until my foxface eats it. This is a red gracilaria macroalgae which might be a little tough for my small foxface, but it looks nice and will absorb phosphates and nitrates from the water, should it grow out on the clip. The gracilaria is similar in texture to dragons tongue, but it is supposed to grow faster. I may move my clip further up to the light, esp since my fish hid until I brought the lighting down to just 50% intensity. I don’t have space in my under-tank refugium for a planted area, so my clip is my only planted solution (for now). As long as salt creep doesn’t form on the control unit, I expect this to last a long time as it is well made. Even if this light doesn’t and needs replaced sooner, this light cost just 5% of what I just paid for a replacement light for my other bigger tank, a mixed reef aquarium using AI Hydro 64s… 5% is not a typo – this light from Amazon a GREAT value!! I have been using it a month now and I LOVE IT!!In case Amazon mixes my aquarium light with other similar products, this is my products description:NICREW C10 Plants LED Aquarium Light, 30-36 in, 20Watts, Full Spectrum Fish Tank Light with Timer, Day and Night Cycle, Brightness AdjustableI hope my review helps others

Bright, well made, good value!
This light is a game changer for hobbyists. It is heavy, well made, and very durable. I like the design of the case and the adjustable mounting arms. This was easy to install, and set up the light timers. The light is very bright, and even TOO bright for smaller tanks. I run might at 50%, and is still brighter than the hood light I had previously. It was cheaper than the lids, and outperforms them in every way.

Great light! Easy to program timer, lots of settings. Had one for my first tank and felt I couldn’t go wrong with a second. Also this company has great customer service. It would be great though is they sold some “legs” for this light so I could give it a bit more height. Just a preference 🙂

I recently bought this aquarium light with automatic on/off settings, and overall I’m really happy with it. The white light is perfect for daytime—bright enough to make the tank look clear and natural. The blue night light creates a calm, soothing effect and makes the fish look beautiful at night without being too harsh. The auto on/off feature is very convenient because I don’t have to manually switch the light every day. It keeps a consistent day–night cycle for the fish.I do wish it had a few more color options or adjustable brightness, but for the price, it works really well and does exactly what it promises. Great option for anyone looking for a simple, effective aquarium lighting setup

I don’t have a parameter to actually test how strong this light is and if it’s actually helping with the plants. The guys at the pet store poo poo it saying it’s not strong enough butt, the plants I grow are lower light and there’s a bunch of sunlight so they seem to be doing fine. I do love the programmability of it and that if it gets unplugged it doesn’t completely lose its mind and have to be reset.

Light works perfectly for what I needed. Timer was easy to figure out and fits on the tank perfect. Came quickly.
