Why Preening is Crucial for Your Birds?
Preening is how birds keep their feathers without dirt, waterproofed, and in perfect position for the flying condition. Studies on multiple species have shown that birds spend an average of more than 9% each day on their maintenance, with more than 92% of that time spent preening. Hence, it is extremely important for the pet birds to get enough opportunities for this.
The Chewing Toy for parrots by SunGrow encourages foraging and preening and relieves feather plucking by your beloved feathery friend. It is suggested for macaws, African greys, Cockatiels, Cockatoos, Budgies, Lovebirds, pigeons, and a variety of Amazon parrots as well.

Your search has come to an end with the SunGrow Bird Chewing Toy.
It is a chew toy with lots of distinctive colored wooden blocks and knots. Birds love to untie cotton rope knots, which satiates their instinctual urge to chew. This sturdy and durable toy is enough for medium to large birds.
Is There a Toy That’ll Keep My Pet Engrossed All Day Long?
Parrot ownership entails challenges as it is not an easy task to keep our intelligent friend busy and active. Though toys have a large role to play in their total well-being, the question is, where to find ‘that perfect toy’ with which your bird just loves to play?

Pets Who Would Love This Chewing Toy
Since birds love playing just like kids, they are always on the lookout for doing something rather than just sit around in their cage. This colorful bird toy gives them the right opportunity, making it the perfect toy for them. Apart from these flying species, our toy is suitable for several small pets like squirrel monkeys, hamsters, guinea pigs and many more. Its multicolored texture attracts the pets visually. They keep themselves busy by chewing and working on the blocks, rope and especially the knots.

Let The Creative Juices Flow Through You!
Having this attractive toy in your house, you can think of multiple DIY projects. It works as a beautiful home decor to hang in the cage or on the wall. You can also hang it at your front door or keep it in the guest room.

SunGrow Pet Pro Tip:
If in case your bird gets frightened by the new toy, try to put this toy outside the cage for a few days and when the bird gets habitual, keep it inside. Other thing that you might try is by stuffing it with a treat. That may be lucrative for some species to forage and find for their food.

Challenges Your Parrot Mentally & Physically — Toys are a necessity for parrots. They provide essential physical activity so that our intelligent feathered pets stay healthy. Bird Chewing Toy by SunGrow provides opportunities for parrots in the cage which they undertake when living in their native habitat. There are several multi-colored blocks in this single toy to make your bird active. These blocks are arranged in multiple layers to climb and explore.
Entertaining Toy For Your Birds — A parrot with nothing to do is a prime candidate for behavioral problems. Some parrots tend to be more disruptive during certain times of the year, usually during their breeding period. SunGrow’s bird chewing and preening toy is a perfect companion to keep your parrots busy, less disruptive and have more fun hours which keep them active mentally.
Edible Chew Toy — It is important for the avian species that we keep something for them to chew on. In their native habitat, they engage in chiseling holes and tearing up branches. This is something innate to them. The wooden blocks chew toy by SunGrow is made from wood and cotton rope. So when they nudge on to their toy, it would keep them content. So if you don’t spot your green cheek outside playing, just hover a little inside. They might be hiding amongst the blocks and savoring them.
Right Size For Your Bird — The Bird Chewing Toy by SunGrow comes with a standard size of 40cm (15.7”) x 10cm (3.9”) and fits well in your beloved feathered pet’s cage. The included metal buckle holds this toy in place. Its crunch potential is ideal for small parrots and medium-sized, conure-sized birds. It is suggested for macaws, African greys, Cockatiels, Cockatoos, Budgies, Lovebirds, pigeons, and a variety of Amazon parrots as well.

Great value
this toy is great. My African Grey spent all day with it. This was a great value. She loves to chew so buying from Amazon seller saves me money and gives my parrot hours of fun. All the toys I have bought from Amazon have been affordable and well made.

Our Parrot Hates Me — Until She Doesn’t
My lovely wife bought me a Timneh African Grey Parrot about 30 years ago. Socrates was a beautiful little chick who used to take masticated food out of my mouth at feeding time. He absolutely loved me! But then he (she) laid an egg and we realized that we had a female although he had supposedly been sexed as a male. Somewhere in her second year with us she directed her love to my wife and became angry with me. We don’t know why, but I ended up being bitten numerous times before I stopped reaching into her cage to pet her. Try as I might I couldn’t get her to favor me as she had originally. Not long after that she started plucking her chest feathers. Bored birds are known to do that and fortunately she only concentrated on her chest. If you have ever been to a parrot sanctuary you will see that it is not uncommon to find a few birds that are virtually fully plucked. They often show other unusual behaviors and the combination results in owners giving up their birds to a sanctuary. Either they didn’t know what they were doing wrong or just got tired of trying to work things out.To deal with our plucking problem we switched her food to Lafeber Nutriberries along with fresh fruit and veggies. We also spray her with water every day and let her sit in the sun for 30 minutes to absorb some Vitamin D. We added a section of PVC pipe for her to nest in and every other day we put an empty box in her cage for her to tear up. We also take her out at night so that she can sit on a perch and glare at me to her heart’s content.Finding a toy that she liked has been problematic. Most of them sit unattended in a corner of her cage until we take it out and fasten it to her night-time perch. Therefore we expected her to reject this SunGrow Chewing Toy and simply watched and hoped for the best. It took her two days to get to it but now she spends a good amount of time analyzing it and tearing pieces off. Obviously it’s a winner for her and at only $11.95 it’s a winner for us. This is a great choice for a finicky parrot.

“Not a bad toy for a medium sized parrot…”
I have had both large and small parrots since 2000. Though I prefer a hardwood to for my Cockatoo, (Mike the Lap Chicken) this is a pretty decent toy. He totally destroys cheaper ones of poor quality/softness in about an hour. This one is taking a tad bit longer… Now he wants his own hot tub and mini bar near it in his cage. 😏 Well, need to go; Got to look up “Hot tubs for bird cages”…🙄

CAG approved!
My CAG loves this toy and IMMEDIATELY started chewing and playing with it when I hung it in her cage. I’ve never seen her go for a toy like she does this one, so once she succeeds in demolishing it I’ll be getting her another one! We’ve had it hanging for about a week now and although she has thoroughly decorated the bottom of her cage with pieces of this, there is still a ton of life left in it. It’s bigger than I expected, which makes it an even better value at $13… and I also appreciate that it comes with a clip to hang it. I (and she) would recommend this toy for sure!

Good
Great for my very destructive birds, even though they’re little, they’re very destructive, keeps them entertained until they tear it apart

Great Size & Quality
I’ve ordered several other bird toys off of Amazon and have had some issues with size as many stores show a large bird playing with the toy but when I receive the toy it is actually not anywhere near close to the size it appeared to be next to the image of a photoshopped large parrot. It was not the case for this one. It was exactly what I thought it would be and the quality is good. My bird hasn’t played with it much yet, but she will. I would recommend!

Too much rope vs wood
I thought this toy would last a while because it looks like a large toy. But there is so much rope in it that it didn’t last very long. I don’t want my birds trying to chew on the rope. That could cause a lot of problems if they ingested it.

Great for the price. Was going to use it for our Lorikeet but put it in our Eclectus cage instead.
