My dog loves this ball. Of course the rope doesn’t last long, but the ball does. Great even for a 95lb Rottweiler. I was surprised.

Toughest dog toys we’ve found
We have a Dachshund that is one bad little dude when it comes to chewing. Kong toys in general are the only toys he doesn’t eat. He has trashed a couple of Kong toys but this one held up pretty well, it took him months to chew up the rope part but the ball is indestructible.

KONG is KING
I bought this for my mom’s 2 year old pup who is a HUGE chewer. He has a tendency to destroy toys in minutes. This has lasted a month. The ends are fraying a bit but no biggie, still usable and he’s all over it every day.

I recently purchased the Kong Ball with Rope for my dog, and while the ball itself has its merits, I must express my disappointment with its overall durability. Here’s my review, considering both the ball’s positive aspects and the rope’s quick destruction.Let’s start with the positive: the Kong Ball included in this toy is excellent. The ball’s design, made of durable rubber, offers a satisfying chew-and-play experience for Penny, my 9-month-old Golden Retriever. Its texture and bounce make it engaging and entertaining, encouraging active play and fetching. The durable rubber construction also withstands the wear and tear caused by regular chewing, which is commendable.However, the rope component of the Kong Ball with Rope leaves much to be desired regarding durability. Despite the ball’s strength, the rope’s construction was subpar. In a matter of minutes, my dog chewed through the rope, rendering it useless and raising concerns about its safety.This swift destruction of the rope is a significant drawback, as it diminishes the life of the toy and limits its potential for interactive play. The fact that the rope deteriorated so quickly indicates a design flaw that cannot be ignored. If your dog is an enthusiastic chewer or tends to be rough during tug-of-war play, the rope may not withstand their antics, putting the overall durability of the toy into question.Additionally, the compromised durability of the rope raises safety concerns. With the rope being so easily chewed through, there is an increased risk of your dog swallowing rope fibers or potentially choking on them. The ball is typical great KONG quality, but the rope is not holding up well to heavy chewing by large breed puppy after first session

Received a shredded toy
This toy didn’t even deserve one toy. I purchased this toy for my puppy and was speechless when I received a package containing a shredded toy and a pile of loose shredded ropes/threads some of which appear to not even belong to this toy. The ball looks brand new so the toy doesn’t appear “used” just absolutely destroyed. Super sad since we’ve loved our other Kong toys. Be careful when purchasing this one..

8/4/25 I ordered this product because my dog likes rope and ball toys, but the first time playing with it the rope started to fray. I expected more from a brand like KONG.25/4/25 Whilst the product wasn’t the standard I’d hoped for I’m pleased to write that KONG reached out, after reading my review above, and gave me a full refund.
