My cat learned how to operate it
My two cats seem to really enjoy this toy. I’d even say it’s my more playful cat’s favorite toy. She likes it so much that she figure out how to turn it on herself—just stamp down on the button in the middle. Since it has an auto shutoff I don’t have to worry about turning it off to preserve battery.I’ve purchased this twice. The first one I got lasted a year or two—and I think the breaking of the first one was my bad since I was the last one that touched it. I was just sliding back a few feet…maybe it WAS with my foot. So maybe not the most durable thing in the world but it seemed to good enough for my cats.It’s relatively quiet—especially if you don’t attach toy with a bell to it. And that’s coming from someone who likes things really quiet. It’s usually the first word I type in any Amazon search. This is especially good seeing as my cat can turn it on herself whenever she wants.The feather parts get ravaged pretty quickly, but the stringy parts stay pretty much intact. It has pretty good battery in that it takes a really long time before it’ll actually give up and not turn on. But as the batteries drain it becomes extremely feeble, moving extremely slowly…which I imagine is less fun for the felines.The only thing I don’t really like about it is that you need a screwdriver to replace the batteries…which is probably some sort of safety precaution, but I don’t really see cats eating three AA batteries or anything. I now just leave the batter door off and things have been fine.I guess it’s also a bit pricey at $35—I think $20 to $25 would be fairer…but I’d say the first one I had earned 7 or 8 cents a day of value….aaaand my cat just turned it on again. There you have it.

Great toy for your cat, not very durable.
I bought this for my cat about 8 months ago when I moved into an apartment. I was going to be gone most of the day, so I thought this would be something he would like, and I was right. My cat would sit at this toy and meow until me or my Fiancé would turn it on for him. The problem? It was so dang loud. We tried to train him to not want it during the night and just come lay on the bed, but he found out how to turn it on by himself (the button on the top is really easy to press, he just watched us after a month or two). The other problem is the batteries. I found myself buying batteries once a week. it takes 3 AA batteries, but I would replace them twice a week. I resorted to buying a battery replacer that plugs in the wall, but he pounced on the toy so much that it broke the battery replacer.Here are a few things I would change about this1: the motor. its too loud, and it burns out when your cats claw catches it and they think theyve won the game2: the battery life is horrible. I get that its a literal spinning motor, but i think some design changes and a motor swap would not only make it quieter, but the battery would last longer3: a way to plug it in the wall. Is it too much to ask that I dont want to have the option to spend my life savings on batteries?4: replaceable feathers on the end. My cat decided to spread the love of his toy by bringing it around the house, so i was gluing the feathers back in on occasion.takeaways from thisPros: My cat loved it. He would literally beg for us to turn it on until he found out how to turn it on… Which leads me to the next pro, If your cat is curious enough, they will find out how to turn it on. I think it only stays on for 3 minutes to preserve battery life, so if your cat wants to keep playing, they can turn it back on. this also works great for them playing while youre at work. another pro is that your cat actually plays. it triggers their natural hunting instinct, so when its bedtime, they will crash, leaving you a nice quiet sleep.Cons: its loud, like really loud. its not unbearable, but if they turn it on during the night, it might wake you up. The batteries… OH THE BATTERIES. I have never bought more batteries in my life. I bought a battery eliminator for it, one that plugs into the wall and the plug is shaped like a battery, and it ended up breaking due to the design. also, your cat will turn it on. its a great pro, but also a bad con. again. if your cat decides to turn it on at 3 in the morning, bust out the Philips head and pull the battery, just be ready for the constant meowing for you to turn it back on

Cat cries when it turns off
A family member bought one for our fosters. Often times we get cats that have been rescued from the street. Part of rehabilitating them is socializing them and introducing them to all the perk of being inside with people that treat them well. Every single one from a month to 2 years old have claimed this as their favorite toy.Watching a 1 year old mother play for the first time with a toy is the greatest feeling ever. She cries when it auto turns off. Every toy before this she would just shred it in a million little pieces. I was hesitant to let her play with it because all the kittens love it. Then saw that you had a 50% off sale. So I grabbed another as a backup incase she broke it.The original one has been through 5 litters of feral kittens. They’ve sat on it, dragged it around, and done everything possible for it to break. That thing is still alive and working like it did day one. I recommend this toy to everyone I know and local fosters.My only complaint is that it turns off after 10 minutes. Our momma cat gets so upset when it’s off. I wish there was a setting that would turn back on randomly every so often. I don’t care if I have to change the batteries frequently if it makes her happy.The first fosters we had with the original toy were the most feral cats we fostered but highly intelligent. One of the 2 sisters learned how to turn it on after watching us over and over for a few weeks. They observed from a distance everything. When she wanted food or attention she would turn it on and then pull it in the corner of our foster room so that it would bang on the wall.In conclusion this toy is the greatest thing ever made. If it had a setting where after turning off for 10 minutes it would go again after a certain amount of time without someone having to push the button I would buy one for each room. Then it would truly be perfection.

Mon chat me le demande et il l’adore depuis jour 1! Il est drôle à voir et je m’amuse parfois à lui coller un bigoudis pour faire changementSeulement la toile s’est détachée rapidement je vais pt la coller mais j’hésite car mon chat aime aussi quand je ne la met pas …il a besoin de changements constamment donc ça lui fait différente façon de jouerJe le conseille vraiment ! Il est sécuritaire et ça nous donne une pause quand on ne peut pas jouer avec lui …N’oubliez pas de le ranger la nuit car les chats et surtout le mien adore faire la fête la nuit en sautant dessus et il le fait glisser sur le plancher ! Donc si vous avez des voisins en bas …attention à ce détail

Keeps the cat occupied all the time it is running. The problem is it switches off automatically so the cat then bothers us to switch it on again!
