Perfect for small to medium sized birds
My Quaker loves going on adventures, so I got another for my Sun Conure. They have both loved them and I definitely recommend for bird owners with small to medium sized birds. After they figure out the plastic (which takes just a few minutes) they are good to go anywhere. It’s easy to assemble and very easy to use, and made to where birds cannot escape, and has good air flow.

Inside Out Backpack
This parrot backpack was sewn together inside out!!! The back straps are sewn to the inside! The bubble clear dome is sewn with dome facing in! Completely unuseable! I was planning on taking my parrot to see the redwood trees tomorrow (Saturday) and it’s too late to get a replacement!

Not good. Bird can die from fumes or chewing through it to escape.
Straight out of the box it had an awful plastic smell. I had to air it out for almost 2 weeks before I felt safe putting a living breathing bird inside of it. I hate that they literally sew the disposable plastic protector onto it so its impossible to remove completely. Mine still has remnants of it that will always be there which is highly annoying. I dont want my bird to nibble and swallow anything that toxic.Besides the smell and permanent plastic, I have a problem with the shape and its lack of rigidity. The bottom plastic tray is too light to sit flat so my bird stood on it sideways. Also, if your bird poops with any kind of force it’ll just cover the back of the material and would be difficult to clean only the plastic tray is easy to clean. This item is poorly designed by someone who has never had a bird before. The pack should be way more rigid to avoid accidental crushing. The back panel (picture included)and bottom should be covered in some sort of metal or plastic that would be easy to clean. It is currently a light woven material that would be impossible to clean. Also, if you buy this, beware of the toxic plastic smell. Even after 2 weeks there’s a hint of it still there and its alarming to think my bird would be inside that for any amount of time. Ill probably be disposing of this item instead of donating to make sure no other pet bird can accidentally die inside of this thing. It earned 2 stars instead of one because my quaker did very well inside of it. My conure HATED IT AND WAS TERRIFIED which is surprising because shes not usually skittish at all. I also suspect that a bird could very VERY easily chew through the side mesh panel and someone could lose their bird accidentally. This thing is not safe.

Super Cute
I really was excited to get this item. Who doesn’t want to take their bird outside with them to get some air and a change of scenery? The carrier is basically a backpack with a domed see-through capsule front. It comes with two high quality rope sticks, two stainless steel feed/water cups, a tray and a wire overlay. It’s really very spacious and everyone could admire your bird while you travel.I did have a few issues with this traveller. First, when you take the protective plastic off the capsule – it won’t come all the way off. It’s really frustrating and time consuming to remove. Sit down during tv or a podcast and just pick away at it. You’ll finally remove it all. You can see the closeup of the capsule how it is.The other issue is the bottom tray – there’s no way for it to stay stable. It doesn’t snap into the bottom – it just lays there. In the soft case, it just keeps lifting up. There’s a seam you can push it behind and below, but the soft case won’t allow it to stay. This would annoy me, and I’d also worry about the safety of my bird with it like it is. You could set it all up, put your bird in, everything is ok, then the tray slides up and becomes a hazard for the bird. I think if you want to use this more safely, attached some double sided velcro to the bottom of the cage tray to keep it in place. i would also like to see a way for the wire to clip into the plastic tray so it doesn’t slide, move, flip up, etc.The other thing is the rope sticks – although this is a roomy carrier, the sticks’ location holes are placed strangely along the side. I think it’s best to only put one stick so birdie cannot get caught between two of them. I found the best was hooking one toward the top and one toward the bottom of the other side and making sure there was an even amount of room all around between the back and the front.I’d definitely have someone else try this on with your setup before inserting your bird. Make sure there is room all around and nothing is smashed. Make sure the food and water bowls are accessible from the stick. I doubt birdie will want to climb around to the bottom of this carrier, especially while you are walking around. This would fit up to cockatiel size comfortably, and only for a short trip or walk. As a bird owner, if you are looking for something like this, it may be worth it for you, but realize you may have to make some adjustments to it to make it safer.
