The wheel that keeps on going.
My boys lover this wheel. It’s so hard to find the proper size for gerbils in pet stores. Everything is either too small or too big and made of plastic. Which fellow gerbil owners know they will chew right through. They are obsessed with this wheel. It’s so quiet and smooth. They’ve chewed the base, the edges, eaten the cork interior off but it keeps going and going. When they do finally wear through it I’ll absolutely buy another one.

Gerbils love this wheel
This wheel comes with a cork insert, which is easy on gerbil paws. So, they get a lot of running fun.However, the cork is only glued in one spot, and eventually comes loose. Elmer’s Glue along the entire cork backing takes care of that. The wheel has a rim around the opening. Sandpaper should be used to take out any rough or sharp edges. Not a big issue,This wheel is glued together, so it should be washed with a wet cloth or good paper towels. Do not soak the wheel,m as it will come apart.While it is not the best thing out there, quality wise, my gerbils enjoy the comfort on their paws, and run on this wheel every time they have a chance.

Pros: quality wood, large enough for gerbil, quiet, natural aesthetic, safe materials, cork track soft and grippyCons: uncentered axle makes for uneven spinning, too short base does not prevent wheel from rubbing against side of tank (we fixed by placing cork trivet below base)Unsure: will cork and its adhesive hold up during cleaning?

I bought a wheel for him and he never used it, so then I tried this wheel and he uses it all the time!!! No noise at all, but my gerbil has eaten half of it, so I will be buying another- he still trys to use the one he has now in-between eating it…lol

My 3 gerbils chewed this wheel in 17 days. I wanted a quite wheel. THIS WHEEL IS VERY QUITE! But, my silly girls destroyed it. I guess back the loud metal wheel.

Gets Gross quick, hard to clean and spins wonky.
The cork in the center gets gross fast and its near impossible to clean. The cork pops off and is almost impossible to glue back on. There are no instructions for how to clean it.It is quiet. But not balanced, so one of my gerbils has a hard time running in it (kind of funny to watch but also super annoying b/c this this wasnt cheap)Do not buy

This is cute and it doesn’t make a lot of noise my gerbils like to chew on it like they do everything but they also tend to leave their waste there and it gets trampled in the inside gets really dirty.
