Poor quality. Slowing water flow.
Poor quality. Water flow initially is strong but slows down significantly by the next day and completely stops in 2 days. Tried cleaning it and reassemble it but the same pattern reoccured. Difficult to adjust the water outlet angle and any movement causes some parts to fall apart. Terrible experience.

Not Ideal as a Standalone Filter
I had high hopes for this little filter, especially with all the claims about biofiltration and fluidized beds, but it fell short in most of the ways that matter. Yes, the concept is solid—building up nitrifying bacteria, adding oxygen, and increasing water movement but in practice, it doesn’t deliver unless you’re running a really tiny tank.The biggest issue is that it’s simply not strong enough to be anything more than supplemental filtration. I tried this in a 6-gallon shrimp tank, and even then, I noticed the water staying cloudy longer than usual. The sponge clogs fairly easily, and while it’s washable, it loses some of its structure after a few cleanings. I also had trouble keeping the fluidized media fully active. Sometimes it would settle and stop moving entirely unless I gave it a manual shake. Not exactly “self-cleaning.”The suction cups aren’t great either—it kept sliding down slowly over a few days. And the size, while compact, doesn’t allow enough space for a substantial bio-load. You’re told not to clean the biofilter balls, but that also means you just have to cross your fingers they’re working.I will say it does provide a bit of added oxygen and surface agitation, and it’s nice to have as a support system alongside a more powerful HOB or canister filter. But don’t expect this to handle ammonia or nitrite spikes on its own. For tanks over 5 gallons, it’s more decorative than functional.
