The pine smells clean and fresh without being overpowering, and it does an amazing job controlling odors. It’s highly absorbent, easy to spot-clean, and stays dry much longer than other bedding I’ve tried.The pellets break down nicely after absorbing moisture, which makes cleaning fast and hassle-free. There’s very little dust, so it’s great for keeping pets comfortable and breathing easy. When buying online, it’s hard to tell how large the wood shavings are.These shavings are 1/4″-1″ in size. So will be ok for baby chicks or small animals.As for the 21 Liter equal amount, can’t say. I did fill a VERY large empty kitty litter jug and could of filled another if I had one.Hope this helps😀.

NOT For Baby Chicks as advertised
Not for baby chicks. The shavings are way too fine, and as soon as I put the shavings into their home they started to eat it, right away. NOT good I am so disappointed.
