High praise in the feline world, where most things are met with either indifference or outright disdain.He takes them readily and works through a stick without the dramatic “sniff, swat, chew” routine he usually employs with new foods. All signs point to genuine approval. He spends a fair amount of time gnawing on them, which suggests they might actually be doing something for his dental health beyond just tasting good. The listing claims these will aid digestive health and freshen breath. I can report that his breath hasn’t gotten noticeably worse, though to be fair, that’s never been a particular issue. When your baseline is “acceptable,” maintaining it counts as a win.I appreciate that these are grain-free, as cats are well known to be meat eaters. A detail they’d probably mention more often if they could talk, right before demanding dinner. The natural Omega-3 content claim seems credible given that we’re talking about freeze-dried salmon here.In the interest of full transparency, I’ve also given some to my dog, who approached them with his characteristic lack of discernment and ate them quickly. He seemed equally pleased, though his bar for “pleased” is considerably lower. I walked away. I sat across the room and stared at the wall for four minutes to establish dominance.And then, and I cannot stress enough how much it pains me to admit this, I came back.I ATE THEM. All of them. While maintaining eye contact with my human so they understood this changes nothing about our power dynamic.The salmon flavour is, frankly, offensive in how good it is. I’m 13. My teeth aren’t what they were. These crunched perfectly. It was undignified how much I enjoyed it.Would I publicly endorse these? Absolutely not. We tried these freeze dried treat sticks for the first time with our 5 year old cat.We have never really given our cat anything like this before. She usually has dry food with once a day wet pouch food and prefers fish flavours over chicken, so we weren’t sure if she would go for these.Verdict: Rosie (our cat) are these out of our hands and loves them! We use them as a treat when she is well behaved and she gobbles them up in quick order.There is enough in the pack for a couple of weeks supply if you give one full stick per day.The sticks do not have any strong odour and are easy to feed to the cat.Our cat loves having something different to chew on instead of the usual cat food we feed her.

Upon opening the pack, the thing that struck me immediately was the lack of noticeable smell given this is a fish-based product – a pleasant surprise for us humans, but a possible cause for concern if the intended recipient didn’t immediately take to it as a result.Turns out it wasn’t a problem at all. The cat definitely enjoyed these, and the biggest challenge for her was keeping her treat away from the dogs. Since they were ordered for the cat’s dental health, we had to provide the dogs with an alternative distraction whenever the cat was given one of these.There’s a good quantity in the pack and I’d regard them as good value at this price.At least we know that if the cat ever goes off these, the dogs will finish them off.
