Sponge Filter
How Does It Work?
Sponge filter uses bubbles of air from an external air pump, or an integral water pump to draw water through the sponge.
What Maintenance Does It Require?
The sponge need to be rinsed about every 2 to 4 weeks. It’s helpful to wash the sponge gently with water from the fish tank instead of tap water.
It is good to replace the sponge after 3 to 6 months’ usage as the holes of sponge is gradually clogged by the tiny debris.

Great value, good for beginners
It was worked great in my tank. I bought two of them one for my 20 gal and another for my 5 gal. I do have a betta and axoltol so I needed something with good filtration but low flow and this has been great. The cost was WAAAY better than anything in store and to me the quality is just as good. I like that they also came with extra sponges so if I start new tanks I can swap already established media. Will be buying again.

Great quality
Have had this filter going for over a month. It is working beautifully in a ten gallon with 6 small fish and 5 shrimp. The sponges are easily removed to squeeze out and easily reinstalled without having to remove the entire unit from the water.

Whisper quite. Low flow. Great price. Bought for my jade shrimp tank is. It is a little bigger than I thought but that’s just because I didn’t read dimensionsx works well so far and no issues.

Plenty of aeration for a 30 gallon tank.
I have a 30 gallon tall tank. I purchased this filter to replace a noisy hang on back filter. It works very well and is very easy to clean. I highly recommend.

Recommend for 10 gallon fish tank
Filter quality if great having about 10 gold fish in one tank. Value for the money and easy to use. I’m using a stronger air pump for a 40 gallon tank. Plus you have to squeeze the air out of the filter first before using.

It’s a keeper.
I love my little ten gallon tank with the little shrimp, two beta females and some snails–some on purpose, some not. It’s just a relaxing thing for me. This was easy to install. It seems to be easy to clean. The little shrimp and betas hang out around it. It’s a great size. I keep it below the water level because I don’t want to hear the bubbles.It’s keeping the place clean, and it seems quite functional. After I set it up I revisited the page to understand the mechanics of how it works. It’s a quiet keeper.

Decent product for price but came ripped apart
Great product and works as it’s supposed to but the box came ripped open with all the ceramic balls loose and the filter has a small leak in it where the air hose connects to the filter.
