Bio Sponge filter is good for aquarium and provides both mechanical and biological filtration. The air infusion chamber produces numerous minute bubbles which promote gas exchange and increase dissolved oxygen level in tank water.
It’s easy to set up. Just connect the unit with an air pump thru airline tubing (Air pump and airline tubing Not included).
These sponge filters do not trap fish fry and are safe for small size fish like dwarf cichlid, guppy, killifish, etc. They are useful for as breeding filter or as secondary filter. Or they can be used as pre-filtration unit by fitting to an external or a top filter.
Filter Dimensions: 3.0″D x 6.5″H – Recommended tank size up to 20 Gal.
Package includes: 4 pcs of sponge filters in a box.

Best adjunct filters for my tank!
I love these filters. I use in conjunction with my over the back of the tank filters. My aquarium water went from very problematic to perfect and clear!. I even have too many fish in there at this point..but i have guppies and there are no spay and neuter programs in our area.😉that being said the first time i bought this at a local pet store and paid way more..so these for the 3 are a bargain!

A must!
Great all the way around.

Best filters
Sponge filters have many uses and can be connected to overhang filters or be a stand alone filter as well. Sponge filters are much easier to clean as well as being able to breed your fish without any problems for the fry or baby shrimps to get sucked into an overhang filter.

Works well for a low water level tank
I needed a filter that would work well in a lower water level since this is in a tank set up for Fiddler crabs. While the water level still cannot be quite as low as I would like it, this has worked out much better than the larger filter we originally had in the tank. It catches all the loose food that can float around in there and the crabs seem to enjoy picking off of it to eat. The crabs are happy, so we are happy. I am still on the lookout for a smaller filter but this one is great for the time being.

Huge!
For a 10-20 gallon filter, these are a bit large. They’re the size of a baby’s head. They would take up quite a bit of real estate in a smaller tank. There’s nothing wrong with them, they appear to be completely normal sponge filters, just huge. I have to wonder if this size is actually intended for a much larger tank size.

Great Value!
I got these to do a rack of shrimp breeder tanks. They come in a plain cardboard box without all the flashy printing, (I think that’s a lot of what you’re paying for at the big box pet stores). The same quality as the brand name sponge filters but a fraction of the cost.
