Great tank so far but unfortunately it came with a piece missing 🙁 I didn’t receive the bottom part of the filter so I had to tie the sponge at the bottom to try and make it work.

Perfect size for my small office
I had 40gallon fish tank before, and it was leaking. I decided to remove the fish tank and the base because my room was getting too small for the fish tank (with additional furniture, tv, stereo system, etc.,)But I missed staring at the fishes.. So order this 2.8 gallon tank.I had great success with guppy before, so I populated with a 4 guppies (hope they are multiplying crazy like in the past).The tank came with all you need for basic beginner’s setup – filter and light. I recycled my old air pump and upgraded filter for one I had for 40 gallon tank – almost fill the entire length of the fish tank, but should provide better filter. If you have just a couple of fishes, the included filter should work fine. I just used bigger one since I already have one. I also used my own flat LED light fixture, which covers entire length of the tank (I do have a cat who loves to poke his paw in the fish tank).It only hold about 3 gallon of water, so cleaning was much easier then 40 gallon tank I had before – it’s pain in the butt to replace water on 40 gallon ones.Glass feels and look fine, and there are no leaks – good quality.If you have a small space or want to setup small fish tank in kid’s room, this is a perfect fish thank.

Does not last! Not worth the money!
The pump worked for a few weeks, but not long after the tank started leaking from the corner. There’s no way to repair it and it can’t be returned. Very disappointing — would not recommend!

Well Constructed, Very Basic Nano Tank Kit – NO LID
Recently, I’ve begun thinking about setting up a small betta fish tank in my home office. I didn’t want it to take up much space, or to generate a lot of extra work to maintain. This 2.8 Gallon Nano Natural Aquarium Kit with Light and Filter is very basic, and offers a solid foundation from which to build a lovely small fish tank or terrarium. I was so excited when it arrived that I started setting it up right away. The first pic is my initial setup using only what is included in the kit, with my own added water & substrate.My Observations:~ Well-Constructed Tank: This is a small, rimless glass aquarium, constructed of 5 mm thick transparent glass on the front and sides, with an opaque black glass back panel. A thin foam rubber pad attached to the entire bottom provides protection for my surfaces, as well as a sound buffer for potential aquarium equipment vibrations. At less than a foot wide, and just over half a foot deep, it doesn’t take up much surface area, yet I found it ample enough space for a small, planted home for my future betta & a couple trumpet snails to enjoy. I wasn’t sure about the black back at first, since I tend to like colorful tanks. But after getting it set up and planted, I actually appreciate the solid black background, as it makes everything else really pop!~ TRULY Quiet Filter! I’ve posted a video and, if you turn on the sound, you can hear for yourself that the included filter is virtually silent! All I hear is the occasional gentle water fountain sound, and an occasional, brief whirr sound from the agitator wheel. The filter flow is adjustable, and in the video, I have the flow on full. There is very minor surface agitation, which is perfect for bettas & floating plants. I’ve had it running for 12 days so far, and it’s working great!~ Included LED Lamp: While this attachable lamp provides somewhat adequate illumination for a beginner aquarium or reptile tank, there are better aquarium light options available. My biggest beef with this light is that it attaches to the top edge of the tank with an ineffective pressure-screw system. Given that the tank is rimless, there is nothing for the screw to catch onto to keep it in place, so it slips off the glass and falls into the water with just the slightest touch. A spring clamp system would have made a more effective attachment. This feature, and the lack of a tank lid, is why this review is 4 instead of 5 stars.I’m reasonably happy with this 2.8 Gallon Nano Natural Aquarium Kit with Light and Filter. I did find that I had to purchase a much better lighting system, a heater & thermometer, as well as everything that goes inside, of course. However, aside from the iffy lamp, I find that it provides a really good start that I could build from. The last pic is my completed, pre-betta setup using other aquarium products I ordered from Amazon.

Won’t sit level, parts so so quality
I wanted to love this little tank, mainly as a temporary hospital or holding female tank, upon putting it all together I realized the tank doesn’t sit flat and rocks?!I can use a small penny or something under it to level but just found that odd.The light works but isn’t very bright and I will be using a sponge filter vs their filter as I don’t really want to custom make filter media for it or track down future media.I knew there was no lid but a lid would have been nice just in case a fish tried to jump. (Happens rarely but it does happen with cichlids).I will add a small heater and still use it, I was just a bit disappointed with the kit.

Quite nice small tank
I needed a compact aquarium for a bookshelf setup and was pleasantly surprised by the overall build quality. The glass is very clear, and the silicone seams are clean and unobtrusive, with no visible excess or cloudiness along the edges.Everything feels well assembled, and nothing about the construction distracts from the view inside the tank. The lighting and filter integrate neatly without blocking sightlines, which helps keep the focus on the aquascape rather than the hardware.For a small aquarium kit, it looks polished and thoughtfully put together, making it a good option where appearance matters as much as function.
