✅ BIG SIZE WORMS — ❌ NOT THE BEST, BUT FISH SEEM TO LIKE IT OKAY.
Being a Fishkeeper for more than ten years, I understand that it’s important to regulate and carefully curate what you feet your aquatic pets. Most of the time, I feed frozen blood worms, and frozen krill or black worms. However, whenever i manage to run out and am not able to get my order in, or get to the store in time (especially since prices on everything) have gone way up, i have to consider other options like dry food, which tends to keep longer, and last longer as well. For years i was very loyal to another popular brand of fish food that my fish seemed to love and devour the moment it hit the water. However, I’d been hearing some recent talk about this brand that rumors were swirling about their processing and ingredient content. I really loved the brand’s dry foods and my fish, like i mentioned, really loved it. But i have began BRANCHING out and trying other brand products just to see if there is an alternative.✅ NICE SIZE: for the price you get 3oz. it doesn’t sound like a lot but in reality it’s a good size container that is more than 80% full to the top. it has an inner metal seal that is there to preserve freshness and also has the anti-mpisture packets inside with the blood worms. the blood worms themselves are even a nice size! surprisingly i was so used to seeing worms that were very thin and very small. however, these are nice and thick worms that you can distinguish one from the next, so i appreciate that these are a really decent size.✅ LOW ODOR: there is usually a very recognizable smell of freeze dried blood worms. the popular brand that i had previous used a lot also had a very distinct and specific scent, but it wasn’t unpleasant or gross. these have virtually no odor or scent, at all.❌ NEED BETTER CONTAINER: the container is a jar like plastic container that has a fitted lid. it’s sealed on the inside, but in order to feed your fish, you have to open the entire container and expose the whole product. there is no way to simply shake out a little bit of the food into the tank, so it’s better off using a small spoon or utensil to dip into the food and distribute into the tank. the product could also spoil and loose freshness quickly due to having to open the entire container every feeding time. if there was a way to cut a small hole in the lid, or have a small port that allows only a premature amount out of the container, that would be largely helpful and more controlled.✅/❌ FISH SEEM TO LIKE IT OKAY, BUT DON’T DEVOUR IT LIKE OTHER FOODS: my fish are pretty much trained to eat anything they get. in the tank that i tried this food, i have angelfish, severums, pencilfish, corydoras, and some smaller either species, and they tend to be non-picky eaters when it comes to food. i tried some of these bloodworms and although they initially were enthusiastically eating and were excited, within the first two minutes the feeding slowed and the enthusiasm faded. im not sure if they were expecting their usual blood worms that they love, or whatever the case may be, perhaps it will take some time for them to get used to, and maybe developers a particular taste for these blood worms, but my fish were definitely not as excited and readily accepting of these.over the next fifteen minutes, the blood worms were very slowly consumed from the surface, little by little, and these tend to stay afloat on the water surface for a long time. they do not eventually sink down to the bottom unless you physically squeeze and pinch the blood worms, as they also seem to be really inflated with air.◼ OVERALL RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ FOUR STARS ——————————————————♡》》》 IN SUMMARY: these were really interesting to try out, and despite these seeming like they are higher quality, bigger in size, and more in quantity, my fish did not enthusiastically accept them. it took a bit of time for all of it to be consumed, and none of it eventually sank into the water column— they remain floating until they’re consumed, or sucked into a filter. they have no odor, but the container that they come in, isnt user friendly, in the way that you can just sprinkle a little bit into the tank. you’ll need a spoon or utensil to take out a small amount, especially if you prefer to not dip your hand in it, and touch the food to get it out. this also risks premature spoiling due to constantly having to open the entire container and expose it, or possibly contaminating the whole container with sticking your fingers in it, to get a small amount out, when feeding. so there are both positive and negative points to this food. this brand has a few flaws in their product, but i truly believe they are definitely on the right path and will be hugely successful, very soon!if you are trying to be budged conscious, without having to sacrifice quality and quantity for your aquatic pets, i would recommend this, or another kind of their food (there is also krill and brine), and see which one works for you. ♡
