Excellent quality cage, great choice for guinea pgis
I got this as a second cage for my new guinea pig so that she can be housed separately from my other little one for a while. After debating whether or not I should get this cage, I am so glad I just went ahead and bought it. I have found that it was worth the very reasonable price. The set up was fairly simple and it’s held together really well. I didn’t have to measure, cut out, or superglue any materials, drive home any massive plastic boards from home depot in a small car, or worry about ordering/finding the right number of storage cubes and compatible connectors. This was a major plus for me.Although my other cage is a C &C cage, I’ve debated just putting both cavies in a midwest cage evenutally, because it’s worked out so well. The dimensions just feel right, and I like that it’s a litte longer. It’s been a breeze to clean in this cage and interact with my guinea pig. She loves to run over to the little door to say hello, receive pats, and treats. I didn’t end up getting the deluxe cage- I just use a guineadad fleece at the bottom and a coroplast litter box at one end filled with critter care. It seems to get the job done!Things to note if you currently have a C&C cage- the bottom of this cage is a soft tarp and doesn’t have much structure, so you’re going to have to put it over something flat with more structure. I don’t think it would go well directly over metal storage cubes, for example. The buckles keep the tarp fastened to the bars at the side and tout so that it does maintain a cagelike shape with corners and no wrinkles. I’ve been able to move the cage around occasionally by gently sliding it across carpet, and it’s held up without falling apart or anything.

i recommend this cage. it’s easy to clean, and has a ton of room. my pigs are visibly happy.
i’ve had my 2 pigs in a bunch of homes. i had them in a c&c cage (2×3) and i decided i didn’t like it. it was really annoying for me to build and it’s hard to be able to move the cage around, mostly because the cubes come apart for me. if i snap one in one side, a part in the middle comes apart. it was just driving me insane. maybe i’m just bad at building them. i do like c&c cages because of the space they offer and it’s easy and cheap to put together, but i made my own coroplast bottom (which you can get at home depot, sheets of it) and i just couldn’t get the cut right. this cage is a TON of space for a great price. i personally like that the bottom is canvas. i don’t have a problem with it. i spot clean weekly, and sometimes don’t have to FULLY clean the entire cage for about 2 weeks. i just line my cage with the carefresh expandable bedding and a ton of hay.i do like to keep the pigs eating area on one side of the cage (that way their poops are more localised there) and their toys and hiding areas on another. i noticed that doing this, they BARELY poop in the sleeping area. it’s easier for me to spot clean this way. anyway, i honestly just get a bag and use a dustpan to scoop the bedding out and then dump it into the bag. the stray stuff, i just pick the cage up from one side and then hit the bottom of the canvas so it can all just slide down. when it’s all empty, i spray a dilute of vinegar and water on the canvas and wipe it down. then i wipe it down again with a wet rag. the vinegar mixture is SOOO strong and stinky so i think wiping it down with a wet rag afterward should be recommended. everything wiped down. any little white calcium deposits wiped away too. i think you just need to keep up with cleaning and wiping it down and it won’t stain. i also didn’t use puppy pads as suggested by some reviewers, and nothing leaked through the canvas at all NOR was there pee just floating around on the bottom. i think using the puppy pads would cut down cleaning time a bit since you can just roll the pads up and throw them away. i didn’t want to use them because i think my pigs will bite them and i don’t want to deal with that.i was really surprised when i read all of the negative reviews, and was worried this cage would be terrible. it honestly isnt. it took me about 10 minutes to clean everything.this cage is great for someone that doesn’t really have the time to get all the parts together to build a c&c cage and for a good price. i do like the cages that you can buy off of the actual site, they’re great, albeit a little pricey. but they’re made way better than the one i did lol. so it’s great if you don’t feel like building something and getting stressed out over it.there’s a lot of room (about a 2×4 c&c cage) i have 3 hidey things in there for them on one side and their food stuff (hay area, food dishes with veggies and pellets) on another and they still have soome xtra space in the middle. they’re visibly happy. they run around and chase each other and they get inside of one of their wicker hidey things that they turn upsidedown and rock each other in it. it’s really cute.i also read people complaining that it’s impossibly flimsy and it caves in ??? this cage is so easy to put together that i hav eot assume that other people maybe got defective cages? yeah it caves in because the bottom is soft and if you fold a side in, its going to do that. but when you put the canvas in and tie the velcro straps, it stays pulled taut. i have mine on the floor and it’s fine. you also can put it on a table.. just make sure the table is bigger than the bottom of this cage and no edges of the cage are hanging off. the bottom is SOFT. it is not a hard plastic. you’re not really supposed ot be moving it around anyway so unless you have incredible hulk pigs that slam against the sides or something or ACTIVELY try to escape, you’re fine. the walls don’t need ot be made out of steel if your pigs don’t bother with trying to escape their cage.i have 2 female pigs by the way. they have been bonded since i got them. i think they were about 3 months? anyway, i really like this cage.

    Great cage for guinea pigs!
Very pleased with this cage! We first ordered another but were so disappointed in the corrugated plastic bottom. Felt very cheap and it was an odd size so we wouldn’t have been able to replace it if it broke or was chewed on by our guine pigs. Found this and are thrilled. It’s easy to clean, it’s a decent size, and happened to be my daughter’s favorite color. May buy another someday if we decide to add on for a larger space.

    Squeek Squeek Happy Pig
I had two little guinea pigs share this cage. It was a great size for both pigs to share. They had room to run laps and pop, but could retreat to separate ends of the cage if they were ill with each other. The cage was strong enough that they couldn’t get out, it was easy for me to get into the cage to pet my pigs, and a breeze to clean. (I had also purchased the top panel separately). The bottom is a thick vinyl but it’s flimsy too. So you can’t very well pick the cage up and move it. I had a cabinet built to set the cage on top of that worked out So great!!I found rolls of paper towels that were 2/ $1. I would line the bottom of the cage with paper towels, then sprinkle a little bedding or hay on top of the towels. The cage was big enough that I had a food and water bowl at one end. Some chew toys and veggies in the middle, and I would cut the box from a 12-pack of coke in half and set on the other side for a hide-out or cubby hole for my pigs.I don’t have my guineas anymore, but I was able to put the used cage on craigslist to re-sell it for $10. If I were to ever have guinea pigs again, I would most certainly look at this cage again for their home.

I wanted something that wasn’t enclosed for bubble and squeak, after some research I found this. It’s easy to assemble (get a man to do it 😂)I can now sit and watch my winny pigs pop corning and just doing what they do. Iv had this cage for almost two years now and it’s still fantastic condition and usage.I brought the other part separately to make it bigger. They are in the conservatory, so they can watch the wildlife in the garden. In the winter we have a heater on a timer so they are always warm, happy and extremity loved.I would highly recommend this Guinea pig spacious and airy home.

This is an amazing cage. I have had many of these cages over the years and absolutely love them. They may not be very portable but I don’t move mine often, and I have mine on tables now (I didn’t before) so I just move the table. I really love the canvas bases of these cages. My piggies never chewed them. They don’t get stained for me because I use fleece bedding (totally recommend you do, it’s great). I also like the accessibility of the Guinea Habitat. Helpful for bonding with your piggies and I don’t really use the doors. Some people say it is hard to assemble and flimsy but I have never had issues with assembly, definitely the easiest guinea pig cage I have ever assembled. Perfect size for guinea pigs. The bar spacing is too wide for hamsters and other smaller pets and the physical cage is too small for rabbits and too low but it is perfect for piggies. Incredibly customizable too. I have used connected cages in different shapes. I connected horizontally without the dividers once, but it was a bit tight to move around. I even built a stand/stacked cage with them and some other materials (coroplast base for top tier, zip ties and a broomstick support beam). The possibilities are endless, really. I have had trios, pairs, mothers with pups, those sassy pigs who need to live in singles over the years, in these cages. I currently have two pairs in these cages. I use the base on the outside because it is true, they are a little flimsy, but it does work. Totally recommend if you’re on the fence about buying this cage. You and your pigs will be very happy. Bonus- I used the spare grids from past cages to make playpens. Companies make fleece sized to these.
