I have this on Auto Delivery. The dogs love this. It is their favorite. They love the taste and even the chihuahua, who only has half of his teeth, has no trouble chewing this food, so it’s not too hard. I originally bought it because it’s an unusual protein and one of the dogs has food allergies.. I routinely purchase about 5 different types of food, so they don’t get bored, and this one is the star of the buffet. It’s always fresh when I open the bag, and even though it’s pretty pricey, it’s worth it for the quality of food.

I just want to say how amazed I am with this dog food in just the few days that I have had it. I’m not one to usually write a review but my 7 month French bulldog puppy has struggled with bloody diarrhea for MONTHS ever since I got him where I have had to hose his butt off every time he pooped because it was everywhere. With him being a french bulldog I assumed he would be bulking at this age but he stays lean. I think anything he eats is just running through him though he has always had a strong appetite and energy so for a while I thought he was just burning everything off. I’ve gone through multiple vet visits and medication and the amount of money I have spent to find a solution is insane. They thought it was parasites but the medications never seemed to improve his symptoms. I started doing some late night reading on his symptoms and thought I would try a hydrolyzed diet like recommended to see if it would help before setting another vet appt and getting a prescription diet for him and probably more tests. I was looking at the reviews and they all seemed positive yet I was worried without me seeing a similar situation to mine that it might not work. Once I received the dog food, within 24 hours his butt seemed less messy afterwards and within two days I didn’t have to clean his butt off at all! His stools have been solid and I don’t see anymore irritation bleeding! I went from feeling completely hopeless to being so grateful I found this solution without breaking the bank. I’m hoping now he will start putting the weight on he needs and I will probably update my review then😊 (picture is before starting new diet. I plan on doing a comparison once he starts filling out)

January 2026 (Update):I decided to give this brand another try with the Duck and Potato recipe. The first bag caused no issues, so I felt hopeful I had finally found the right food for my dog. I ordered another bag a month later, and immediately noticed something was off… the kibble was a completely different color and significantly smaller. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and fed it anyway. Unfortunately, my dog developed severe food poisoning.The quality control with this brand appears to be highly inconsistent. How can the same Duck and Potato recipe be so drastically different within a single month?October 2025:The Sweet Potato and Venison recipe caused serious digestive issues for my dog, including uncontrollable bowel movements and diarrhea. He was clearly uncomfortable and needed to be taken outside every hour. I stopped feeding this food on day four, and he improved by the next day.Two weeks later, I tried again very cautiously, mixing just 10% of this food with 90% of his regular food, and the exact same symptoms returned. My dog is six years old and has never reacted this way to any food, dry or otherwise, nor to any of the listed ingredients. I strongly suspect there was something wrong with my batch.It’s incredibly disappointing to be out $85 and left with 22 lbs of food that I can’t safely feed my dog or even give away.

3 months of use – some allergy improvements
My frenchies have been on this for a few months now and I am honestly not sure if I have noticed much of a difference in their allergies, which was my initial reason for moving to this brand and this protein. Like most Frenchies my male has some pretty bad skin allergies that surfaced a few years ago and my female was gnawing on her feet constantly. They both had occasional yeast overgrowth and we have been trying different things to help manage it. I have noticed slightly less chewing on their paws so I will count that as a win but it’s also winter time now so it may just be less heat is leading to less yeast overgrowth. I want to make sure people understand “limited ingredient” does not mean less ingredients, it just means they are using alternative protein that’s not on the common allergy list and leaving out other common allergens like gluten, wheat, etc. They were on Canidae for years before I made this switch. The food does look good in terms of moisture – it doesn’t pour out of the bag looking dry and stale. It’s darker in color seems fresh as far as kibble goes so it does make me feel like it’s decent quality. As far as being effective with allergies or skin issues it’s hard to say.
