My huge Shibunkins love this food & reject anything else. It sinks so it protects them from the cats in the neighborhood. The ingredients are high quality. Some of my fish are close to 10 yrs old. Picky old girls but their color is still vibrant!

Been using for over a decade
I have been a goldfish hobbyist for over a decade (Four large tanks). I have been using this food the entire time. Flavor? The fish eat it fast. The average age of my goldfish is over 8 years so while that has a lot to do with water changes, and a lot of care, the food clearly has keep them healthy as well. You must use “sinking pellets” or the fish will have problems with their air bladders. I missed this product for a period of time when it was unavailable – Covid?

Great food, lousy new container
No issue with the food, been using it for decades and the fish live a long time. My concern is the packaging; since Omega One got bought, they switched packaging manufacturers. The newer threaded lids do not fit well on the container; it’s too easy to cross-thread them on and if you over-torque, the lid will deform and fall off. That was never, ever a problem with the old packaging!

Received items within 3 days. Container exp date was March 2026.Originally I was only feeding Hikari small/mini pellets, but as my goldfish grew larger, I switched to a mixture of Hikari and the Omega One medium. It’s worked out well, goldfish will gobble them up.
