My guinea pig loves this hay. It is nice and soft, not rough like some brands are. Nice color, too. It has plenty of those ‘noodles’ that she likes.

Oxbow Prime Cut Soft and Lush Timothy is an excellent brand! I have a picky mature Chinchilla, who loves this brand! I attempted to test out different brands and sellers. Softness is a quality he enjoys in addition to many flowers. The texture is as important as the taste which, makes any order worthwhile and this brand is definitely worthwhile! The value for the money is important and easy and ability to maintain freshness. The packaging is contentious and delivery timing valuable as some exotic small pets, as lovely to own as they are; are high maintenance! I appreciate any mitigating efforts a business makes for the caregiver is as delightful as the over all purchases of treats and food.It seems to be the choice over the past purchases given the fact that these guys like change one in a while too. I’d recommend this brand for sure.

Convenient and mess free.
I have a love / hate relationship with this box of hay. First the LOVE – Convenience, NO mess (rabbit owners, you know what I’m talking about with hay EVERYWHERE) – I really appreciate that when I use this my house doesn’t look a barn with stray hay lurking about. It’s also great if you are going to be gone to ensure the rabbit has a proper amount of hay at the ready. This hay box is also a good value compared to local stores that sell it, especially on subscribe and save. Additionally, the hay quality seems high. The downsides: the boxes arrive with LARGE shipping stickers. We all know rabbits chew things and I’d prefer my rabbits didn’t have access to stickers for their sensitive little digestive tracts. I also don’t like that one of my rabbits INSISTS on sitting on top of this hay box and pooping in it while she eats. Gross. No way to prevent that for her, but our other rabbit tidily sits in her letterbox like a little princess while she eats out of hers. Personality I guess.

Recommend for rabbits that won’t eat 1st ir 2nd cutting
We had a rabbit that had some dental issues and ended up with a sore on her tongue which led to her not wanting to eat 1st or 2nd cutting hay. We ended up feeding her some Critical Care and then she did begin to eat this, until she felt well enough to go back to wnd cutting.

I bought two packets of Oxbow Timothy Hay the same day – this one and another bigger packet of 2nd cut. Buying hay from these sellers is always a gamble but Oxbow has taken it to a new level – NOT A SINGLE BLADE OF hay/grass in either of the packets. Just bits and pieces of dried stalk and LOTS of dust. My bunny does not even go near it, let alone eat it. Not soft hay
I have been buying Oxbow products for my guinea pigs for few years. In general, I think that their products are higher quality than others I’ve tried and I appreciate the brand.Recently, one of senior female guinea pig has been having some issues, and the vet recommended she be fed a very soft day. I’ve been looking for third cut Timothy, but it’s hard to find. Since I like and trust Oxbow, I thought I would try this “soft and lush” variety. What is good about it is that the color is right, it didn’t have brown pieces in it, and it has a lot of hay flower tips. Unfortunately, it’s no softer than their other hay, and since I paid more per ounce for it, I would have expected it to be a softer day.
