Great purchase!
Perfect for my kitten, as she is growing, I literally cannot smell cat litter in my house. My kitten loves to watch it rotate and when she jumps in the built in sensor will stop. It is as advertised. Easy to set up, it’s sturdy and very functional! I feel better about working long hours or taking a short vacation, I have gone 9 days without having to change the litter bag!

Works well, and very quiet!
Update…We have had this about 8 months now, and am still very impressed. I (and the cats) seem to prefer this to the much more expensive Litter Robot. Zero issues so far. We have a total of 7 cats, and this and a couple LRs, I probably dump this one every 5 days or so. It’s operated perfectly, no funky flashing lights or pinch sensor issues to deal with! The “safety” works perfectly to stop cycling if a cat gets in while it’s running. Took a bit to get proficient in installing the bags, but it’s not much of an issue. No smell issues-the nasty part is sealed from the room. Yes, it smells when you change the bag-pretty hard to prevent that. I give the bag container a little shot of Lysol once in a while to keep it fresh, not often. It doesn’t need frequent cleaning, but when you do it’s much easier than the LR, flip the two levers on the sides and the rotating “drum” lifts right out. It’s not badly heavy, and easy to take outside and wash with the hose. As I said in the original review, it’s much quieter than the LR-I have it in my master bedroom and can sleep through it, and I’m a pretty light sleeper. The overall size is much smaller than the LR, but the actual litter area is larger, the cats seem to prefer it. And it holds more litter so is less sensitive to fill level. Also the open top design makes it much handier to fill, especially if you do so from a large box. Strongly recommend, especially for the price. It looks like other companies are now selling the same product with their brand on it (some with different colored plastic parts)-so if you prefer a different color don’t be afraid to look around.*****We’ve had this for about 3 weeks now and I’m quite impressed. We have had a Litter Robot 3 for several years. The cats seem to prefer the Petpivot, it is getting more use than our LR. It is MUCH quieter. And the open top design makes it easier to clean. No issues with odors (granted it’s new, will be interesting to see how it smells after a few more months). So far no “quirks” like stopping mid-cycle or anything, it’s been flawless. The litter area is also larger than in the LR.I question how long it will last and what support will be like from the manufacturer-LR is great in that regard. But for well under half the price, I’m happy. Would be nice to adjust the time before it dumps, could let the litter absorb a little longer. And would be nice to dump litter to empty without using the clear plastic shield that comes with it. But these are minor issues.

A semi-comprehensive review!
This is my first ever automatic litter box and I am pretty impressed. Prior to this, I used pine pellets and the breeze litter box system (10/10 litter box) but I have multiple cats and wanted to see if I could get away with no scooping! I have been using it for a week and I am really enjoying it so far.Litter: Since I haven’t used clay litter before, I am still trying to find a good brand. Tidy cats tracked everywhere with this system so I switched to Dr. Elsey’s Ultra litter and I am noticing a big difference in tracking and odor reduction.Smell: I noticed that the litter pan that stores all the waste was smelling so I put a baking soda deodorizer in there and bam! No smell! Additionally switching to Dr. Elseys litter cut down on smell.Emptying litter: The reason I took a star away is because the plastic litter screen doesn’t effectively cover the grate, so when you empty litter to change it, some litter doesn’t get emptied. Not a big deal but that mechanism certainly could be improved. Also, make sure that the litter is below the minimum litter line or else it won’t empty correctly and will automatically stop the emptying process!Automatic feature: I really enjoy the automatic waste removal so far. It activates about 2ish minutes after the cats leave so plenty of time to make sure that there is no kitties inside the litter box!Manual feature: The manual feature works great and is also super convenient. I used it the first day to get my kitties used to the box but they took to it pretty quickly so I didn’t have to use it for long. All you have to do is press the clean button instead of it automatically cleaning it.Ease of access: The litter box is wide and plenty of room for cats that are…ahem ***big boned***. I have a 12 lb kitty and he is able to do his business with ample room. My 8lb cat has no issues either!Waste bin: the waste bin is pretty convenient to use and I find myself emptying it once a week with 2 cats! The system comes with plenty of trash bags for it so you shouldn’t have to buy more for a few months.Litter mat: I didn’t like the litter mat that came with it since I had a better and bigger litter mat that I got from Costco. But if you don’t have any litter mats, it’s better than nothing! It’s kinda flimsy and small and my cats like to fling litter.Litter bed: the bed is a synthetic water proof cloth material that can be removed and cleaned. It recommended to do so once a month. I notice the type of litter you use dictates what sticks to it. Tidy cats pretty much caked to it but when O switched to Dr Elseys, there was zero caking. I suspect that might be the case for any litter box you use, though.Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this system and its ease of use is very nice. I miss my pine pellet system since I find that pine has ZERO urine odor but at the price of not scooping, it’s pretty worth it. I just wish the litter emptying mechanism was a little better. I will update in a month to see if I still feel the same!
