    Big, Sturdy, Works Great!
Great hamster wheel! Perfect size. Sturdy and strong. Our hamster has been running on it nonstop since we got it. Squeaks a little bit, but if you grease it, it doesn’t squeak. I would definitely buy it again!

    Good product
Seemed too big at first. But perfect for gerbils in 20 gallon long.

Great Fun for the Whole Mousie Family!
YES, MESH WHEELS CAN BE OK — FOR MICE. They grip the mesh with their toes as they run and do not get bumblefoot. In fact, I think my mice prefer the mesh wheels to solid plastic — they probably feel more secure when the wheel goes faster than their little legs and they spin over the top. I always preferred the Silent Spinners myself, but a mouse wants what a mouse wants…I found it ironic that my “random” color wheel turned out to be pink right when it was intended for the girls… They LOVE their wheel. They co-run a lot, and frequently the biggest mouse will get going fast and the others will just hold on and go for a ride…round and round and round…This wheel DOES get squeaky, as a mouse’s running causes the paint to rub off at the spot where the wheel turns (via friction), but I just rub a little cooking oil (I use sunflower seed oil) on the bar where the wheel spins AND IT’S SILENT. I can be sitting on the couch next to them and not even know they’re running. Quieter than a Silent Spinner, imo. And added bonus (in their minds, I’m sure), they’ll lick the extra oil with happy tongues — when no one is running, of course. This wheel also makes me slightly happier on Cleaning Day — yes, it’s going to be encrusted with pee (mice do that) — but at least their poopies are not smashed all over. Those mostly tend not to stick, what with centripetal force and all. So I will have a few little mouse poos magically stuck halfway up the wall of their glass aquarium, but overall cleanup is SO MUCH LESS GROTTY than a solid wheel. Soap and hot water (and no 10 extra minutes scraping off leftovers) = clean! So buy this wheel…YOUR MOUSIE FRIEND WILL THANK YOU.

First wheel my gerbil hasn’t eaten!
I’ve given my gerbil everything, hard plastic wheels, wooden wheels, all were shredded within hours. My gerbil cannot eat through this wheel! The holes in the mesh are way too small for his feet to get stuck. The wheel is not loud at all, I put some olive oil on it to stop the squeaking. I got a purple colored one, the color varies once it comes. Looks a little different than the photo but not bad. Overall pretty good!

    Not exactly as pictured
The wheel I got does not look like the one in the image. Mine has legs on both sides (4 legs), instead of just one set of 2 legs over a base. I’m a little unhappy as I think the design pictured looks less likely to cause injuries, as I have several mice and they hop on and off it while others are running. I do prefer wire wheels to plastic because they can be oiled to make them silent (I use a little vegetable oil) whereas I find that plastic wheels, even when billed as silent, sometimes rattle. So far the mice seem to like it OK, I’m just a little disappointed that the format isn’t as pictured.

not safe for the animal and creaks very loudly
There is a very loud creaking sound, it is unbearable when the animal starts running at night. There is a metal bar in the middle, when the animal runs it can accidentally fall out of the viburnum and hurt itself on this bar!!!

    Would be great, but …unsafe
I ordered this wheel for my little African soft fur rats knowing they are big chewers and not wanting to get plastic for that reason. It’s quiet, right size and very sturdy. But what I am disappointed about is that the design has changed from what is pictured. The base now has a triangular bar support instead of the one bar up high like in the picture. All 3 of my little ones like to get on at once and when they do they bump their heads on the bars and I can see how a little neck or body could get stuck between the crossbar spoke and the base supports. Also they crawl under the wheel and could get lodged under as it spins because of the small space. If it was freely hanging like shown it would be safer. I was in debate about metal wheels because I read anything with a crossbar spoke is dangerous they can hit their heads and they do. Final note I received none of the bright colors like what is shown in the picture or other people’s comments. Instead I got a dull gray. Not such a big deal if only safety wasn’t an issue. I am now looking for a sturdy plastic in hopes they don’t eat up what I paid for. It’s hard to find a wheel that’s really good for your pets what I’m seeing they all have risks.

    Mouse Loves It.
I bought this wheel for a wild baby mouse I raised. She loves it. I’ve had it for close to a year now and it’s still working just fine. Since I’ve had it for so long, I can comment about certain aspects of the wheel with certainty.1. The wheel I received is well made and it still going strong.2. Even though the wheel itself if still holding up, what isn’t is the paint. I live in a humid area. The moisture in the air has flaked the paint right off, leaving a rusted wheel behind. So if you live in a humid area, I would skip this wheel.3. The wheel does squeak. It started when there was still paint on it and has gotten worse now that it’s rusted. Whenever I clean the cage, I dip a cotton swab in olive oil and rub it on the joints of the wheel and that stops the sound.I will be purchasing a different wheel, only because I don’t like the flaked paint and rusty wheel. Otherwise, I’d keep it.

Our sand mice has been living it! Holds perfectly and they are large enough for their feet to not get stuck in the wheel. Pretty silent so far (it has been 2.5 months), sine little grease and the extra noise goes away. Mice has been on a wheel almost 24/7 and it’s big enough to fit both of them.

Not to much noise, and my hamster loves it. I hung it upside down for more room in the cage.

  11. Just some random guy buying random stuff he sometimes needs and sometimes doesn’t need

Our gerbil Ginger, who has become vicious in her dotage towards her sisters, had to be separated from her sisters because she was biting their legs. So, we got a new cage and a new wheel for her (kind of like a Danish prison – all her needs are taken care of, despite her criminal past). Anyhow, this is not supposed to be about the gerbil and how she got the new wheel, but about the wheel. It functions quite well, but squeaks a bit if you don’t oil it. We use a bit of sunflower oil (so non-toxic for the gerbil, since we still love her, despite everything). However, Ginger likes the oil, so licks it off, and then the wheel starts to squeak again. And we checked – it’s the wheel squeaking, not the gerbil. But I wouldn’t use anything other than a plant-based oil for fear she would meet an untimely petroleum-based demise. Minus 1 star for squeakiness, plus 4 for everything else.

I have two gerbils. They gnawed hard plastic wheel. So, I had to buy new one. Older brother really like it but younger brother doesn’t like it. Overall, I’m really satisfied it because it is cheaper than plastic wheel but they can’t gnaw it anymore eh~It was making noise when my gerbil was running. I worn little oil to wheel. Now it is okay.
