PERFECT FOR SNAKES….
It was time to order a good quality bedding for my Ball Python since my last purchase of bedding ran out. My usual Aspen Bedding worked well, BUT, for what it now costs on Amazon is 32.95 for 24 quarts. This product is basically the same with a bit larger “chips” that provide good coverage and absorption. This 141 Liter bag provides the same “Volume” as SIX BAGS of my past favorite, which, when you “do the math”, equates a cost of only about $5.83 per 24 quarts, the volume of the mentioned Aspen Bedding. (141 L = 148 Q). The choice was clear; buying a similar quality bedding for abut ONE SIXTH the price was a no-brainer. It is packaged with a high degree of compression that expands when digging out several handfuls for terrarium cleaning. With two cleanings so far, there is barely a “dent” in the massive bag of shavings which should last for a very long time. Overall, a VERY GREAT value….

Good quality Aspen
Good value for money, and seems good quality. I’ve gotten it from this seller a few times now and I haven’t found any foreign objects in it and it was clean when it arrived, and stores well for me. Dusty, but all aspen seems to be dusty, and this one is better than others I’ve tried.My snake seems happy with it, and thanks to the bulk deal it’s easier to fill his tank so he can dig plenty of tunnels.

Fantastic substrate for snakes
I’ve started using this aspen substrate for all of my King and Milk snakes. It provides great odor and moisture control and is easy to clean as necessary. It is very low dust and has a great consistency. The snakes are able to burrow in and make tunnels that hold their shape. The large packages are a great value. I highly recommend this aspen bedding for snakes, reptiles and rodents.

Pretty good bedding
If you want wood shavings for bedding this stuff works well. I would say that it absorbs decently and the smell isn’t bad. I’m not a huge fan of shavings as bedding in general though because they stick to EVERYTHING. They were all over my house for weeks after even switching bedding. Ended up switching to fleece bedding which I personally prefer. Doesn’t hind in smell quite as well, but the easy of cleaning and reusability make it a better choice for me. Also cheaper in the long run. But for wood bedding, this stuff is good. If you prefer this type of bedding this stuff is good

Little to no dust!
My mice love this bedding! The bale lasts a long time, and I only have to change it about every other week. I do wish it would hold burrows better, but I’m not too worried as I can add paper bedding and hay to allow that!

Edit: Last night I used this for the second bedding change which meant I got to the second 1/2 of the bag. This is NOT low dust. At ALL. When I tossed the bedding with my hands, it poured giant billowing clouds of dust into the air. Dust was swirling around our ceiling fan like a dust tornado. My partner and I started coughing, had to turn on standing fans, and leave the bedroom to let it air out. This is ABSOLUTELY unsafe for small animals and rodents with sensitive respiratory systems, especially mice. DO NOT USE if dust is a concern. It is dangerous and will cause respiratory illnesses. I also got splinters and found literal sticks of aspen!!I am used to the mini aspen bedding from another popular brand, Niteangel, so was surprised to see the larger, tougher chunks that this bedding comes in. They cannot be vacuumed up if you spill them due to their size! I am not sure if my mice can burrow as effectively due to the size of the aspen pieces and their texture – they are not soft like the mini flakes. There is a stronger wood smell with this brand than with others, so be prepared for the enclosure to smell a bit like a barn. However, the jumbo size and price is really beneficial if you have a large enclosure and provide your small animals with deep bedding. I could not keep up with buying 70L packages for $35 each week. This is a much better deal, but there are some noticeable drawbacks. Overall, I’d recommend Niteangel if you can afford it, but if price is an issue, this works. It does seem adequately low-dust, which is important for mice and their sensitive respiratory systems!

This stuff is wonderful and soft for my animals there’s so much product for price and comes in a nice medium sized bag so easy to store what’s not needed for changing over, smells natural which is great for pet’s definitely helps keep them happy , low low dust I would say not visible in the air when unpacking

I use this product in the bottom of my Parrotlet and Parakeets cages and they both love it. They like pushing it about and covering their heads in it. It’s far safer and softer than pine shavings, which I understand can be toxic to parrots when wet. So I’m really happy that Aspen shaving are less harmful and as I said my birds love it. A bit expensive but my birds are worth it.
