    From a lifetime with birds…
We are the second generation to care for parrots, and have been raising various parrot species for most of our lives now, & we can tell you as with *** anything you put in a birds cage they will either take to it, or they won’t. Every bird is different, and God forbid if the wind 3 counties over is blowing in the wrong direction! Lol! Chances are you will never understand why some things are happy makers, and others are The Devil! Gotta love ’em!***Seriously though the blocks are a great source of calcium if your bird will take to it. **As for the size- Unfortunately they are small, but we do for instance offer them to our Congo African Gray parrot (Cockatoo’s are about their size if it helps any of you) who we also offer a large calcium block from a large national pet supply chain because she can be fussy at times, and ignore one while favoring the other, so we offer her both. **Calcium, and the minerals they would find in their natural environment are extremely important. CAG’s for instance do dig in the mud for some foods in the wild- which provides them alot of the minerals they need; *** However as any Parrot Keeper can tell you – you can not force parrots to always eat what’s good for them. ***It is best to offer what they need to be healthy in as many forms as possible to ensure a long, and healthy life.**As for a smaller sized parrot-They’re a great size for our Sun Conure (Cockatiel, English Budgie, Amazon Conures are about the same size). She initially wouldn’t get near it, so we moved it to the opposite side of the bars ( so it was hanging on the outside) until she got used to looking at it, and decided it was not Satan! Hahaha!***And then you will have the birds that no matters what will never, ever touch it. That’s birds – especially parrots for you. At that point you just try something else, but you must offer calcium, natural minerals, & ***objects to grind their beaks should they wish (most parrots will).I don’t find this block to be a great source for beak grinding for our birds. A parakeet, or small bird like that then I would say yes – this product will help with that.***We also find the twists to be flimsy. Amazingly most times it hold, but when it does not we put it in one of the treat cups. It would be nice however if the manufacturer would upgrade these, but then again we do enjoy the price, and wouldn’t want to pay more for the few times the twists fail!***At the end of the day we DO recommend you try this product. It’s inexpensive price makes it worth trying for sure, and it does offer essentials your bird needs.**Well, we hope sharing our experience, and our review is helpful to you!

This only lasts until your parrot figures out how to remove it…
My Molocaan cockatoo keeps managing to put this on the floor of his cage. It only has a twistee on the back and I fasten it on as much as I can but my bird is pretty smart and has figured out how to remove it. The actual product is ok, I guess but I wish they’d come up with a better way to fasten it on the cage. Especially since this is parrot sized and they are intelligent birds.

Decent block, but with cheap twist ties to attach it.
A decent chew block, but with cheap twist ties to attach to cage. This block is really too heavy for twist ties and it shows. Similar blocks I have bought in the past have used a bolt and washers to hold them up (and they stay up). Our bird has already managed to knock this one off the cage once.

    Best for my conure
Best beak conditioner block. My bird loves it and it does not crumble like other brands. It is a larger size which has lasted my bird for months…..and its still less than half chewed. I tried cuttlebones for my conjure but she destroyed them in a matter of days.

My cockatoo really likes this mineral block but I can only let him have it for a few minutes as he would just destroy it. It wires on to the cage easily. Happy parrot.
