Wasn’t sure this was worth the price compared to pine shavings but my chickens answered the question, yes! They love it, it’s easy to clean and virtually no dust. Worth every penny

As far as I can tell, Cranky Frank Hemp Chicken Bedding is the same as Cranky Frank Small Animal bedding, but in a 30lb bulk size.I love this bedding. I use it for my 4 indoor rabbit’s litterboxes. This bedding is the best at containing smells and litterboxes last a day or two longer than paper litter. The scent absorbing is impressive, especially since there’s no chemicals or baking soda involved. The litterbox (which I have newspaper, layer of Cranky Frank’s Hemp, and hay) can be soaked through and I don’t smell a thing.My rabbits do not eat or dig at it. There was barely any transition needed, they were more than happy to use this litter. This litter clumps, so it is easy to clean, and doesn’t stick to fur (a problem I have with my Angora rabbits and paper litter). It seems soft on the feet too!The only cons are it is messy and flutters out when dry. This bag does not have a resealable top, so you’ll need to tie it or have a container for it.Either way, I find Cranky Frank’s Hemp the “holy grail” of pet bedding, so I’m happy to have 30lbs for my fluffle of rabbits.

Great alternative to pine shavings-simliar absorbtion but without as much aromatic oil/dust
I usually use pine or soft paper bedding for our quail and guinea pig. I have been using Cranky Frank’s hemp bedding for my pets, and it’s been a healthy experience. The absorbency is comparable but whats dramatically better is the low dust which is helping our senior guinea pig. Its less aromatic than pine although it does have a very mild scent. It seems much healthier.It is a great choice for quail or guinea pigs. It’s environmentally conscious in how it is grown and it is biodegradable and compostable. The front picture may appear slightly different than the actual product. It shows it being all white but it is a tan wood-like material. The quality of the product is great. I read the bag and I understand why Cranky Frank might be cranky. This may give you a chuckle as well. Cranky Frank, I hope you know that you made someone’s day a little brighter with your bedding.

A Wonderful Alternative that has Become a Go To
We have had chicken for over ten years; cleaning the coop is not a favored activity. We once had an excellent coop with sand that was easy to clean. We have moved to the Fort Knox of coop and old, solid granary with very little ventilation. We have been die-hard flock fresh bedding people, but it isn’t easy to find, and the price for the amount we need is a bit much. We were happy to see how much we got with this huge bale of hemp bedding. The flakey bedding is very nice and doesn’t have a smell, nor does it seem to hold one either. We do add PDZ to our boxes to help with any ammonia smell. The hemp has a slight odor, but it is nothing to bother the chicken like some shaving do or to bother you. It does take on the odor and trap it.

Hampster loves this bedding. It keeps the cage fresher longer and absorbs smells. Low dust also. Hampster has not sneezed once.
