My Betta LOVES this food!
My lil guy loves this food so much! I give him two pellets every day and he goes crazy over them! They are a tiny bit too big for him but he still loves them. He likes to carry them around in his mouth for a little bit before he eats them which I think is so funny lol. His color is so vibrant and pretty and I like to think its because of these Betta Bits 🙂

Good quality food
I’ve had a few bettas over the last 3 years and the small bag of food has lasted for all those years (just the typical betta food from the big box pet store). I was getting a new betta, so I thought I’d start him out with a high quality food, to hopefully prolong his life. The first day I fed him this food, he spit it right out. I got nervous and gave him the old food I still had. But then I realized, it was the pellet size he didn’t like, not the food itself. I started crushing 3 pellets, and he gobbled them up no problem. I fed him once a day, in the morning, with 3 crushed pellets. After a month or two I noticed he started floating on his side uncontrollably, about 4 hours after I fed him, then he would be fine by the evening (this went on for about a week or 2). I thought he had a swim bladder issue, so I fasted him for a few days. Then I decided to cut back to 2 crushed pellets a day and he’s been doing great. I’ve had my betta for 10 months now and he healthy and happy. He is a bright vibrant golden orange color. I wouldn’t say he became more vibrant with this food, but he certainly never lost any color. Out of all the bettas I’ve had over the last few years, this lil’ guy, Buddy, is definitely one of my healthiest. What I’ve learned is all bettas are unique, and they all have their own personality. Not all bettas will eat the same amount of food, so you should experiment with how many pellets to feed them. Keep in mind, over feeding will lead to digestion issues, so I recommend fasting your betta at least 1 day a week.

Probably a good betta pellet.
Back in 2021, I had purchased a bag of Ultimate Betta Bits, which my bettas had loved. However, since the pellets had reached their expiration point, it was time for me to purchase new pellets. This time around, I decided to give the Extreme color ones a try. Unfortunately, my betta spit these pellets out and ignored them upon trying them for the first time. While the Extreme Betta Bits seem more popular on Amazon, the Ultimate ones have about 10% more protein, which is what I may have to go back to using.

Large pellet size ratio to fish
Bettas seem to enjoy this food, the only downside is the pellet size. Having to break some of the larger ones in half before feeding or soak the pellet first to softness before feeding has helped. Overall seems to be a good purchase. Within the first week Ive noticed a growth in fin size and color vibrancy.

It is not floating food.
This “floating” betta food sinks so fast the fish can’t catch it.
