These unique insights into the nutritional needs of fish give a competitive advantage no other fish food maker can duplicate and allow us to produce species specific diets that will not only maintain your aquatic pets’ health, but assist you in keeping your aquarium or pond in top form.
We make the health and longevity of the fish and the aquatic environment they live in our first priority. Why Customers Choose Hikari

RESEARCH
We feel it’s our duty to constantly investigate the natural ecology of fish to make the best food for them. Our exploration to Irian Jaya, Lake Malawi in Africa, Guiana highland, the Indian Ocean, the jungle of Southeast Asia and the Holy River Ayeyawady and others, offer us many secrets to fish health, coloration, breeding requirements, water conditions and quality.

SPECIES SPECIFIC DIETS
Hikari offers a wide variety of diets for different species of fish, each offering unique characteristics which enable it to be readily accepted by the specific fish it was developed for, which is where Species Specific originated. This attention to detail allows you to be confident your choice will be quickly devoured by even the most finicky eaters.

TECHNOLOGY
Our first hand experience breeding and raising fish, and the scientific data we can collect during this process, give us a clear road map for future product improvements and enhancements. Hikari uses actual experience and physical practice instead of marketing schemes or unproven theory to develop our premium aquatic diets!

Great food for my goldfish! Small size so its great for even the little goldfish. Slow sinking pellets.

Trusted brand, fish love it, and no digestive issues!
My Ranchu Goldies love this food and haven’t had any digestive issues with it like fancy goldfish are prone to. It also lasts forever when you’re only feeding two fish. I didn’t really notice any color enhancing qualities, but my goldies were still babies at the time of first purchasing and had grown quite a bit by the end of the bag — it’s pretty normal for colors to change and fade as they age, so I can’t really say if this food made them fade less than others since I don’t have any other fish to compare it to. But overall it’s a fantastic food and one I’d highly recommend to any fancy goldfish owner!

Great for fancies
My 2 fancy goldfish love this food. I use it in their regular rotation of foods for variety, although I try to use this at least 5 times a week for one of their meals due to the probiotics included in the ingredients that need to stay in their system in order to be effective.I haven’t had any issues with their health when adding this to their diet. The pellets are also really small and sink immediately, which can be helpful if your fish are on the smaller size or have issues with swim bladder disease.

Goldfish Love this food
Have a outdoor above group pond with about 12 Goldfish and many different kinds, they all love this food. I go out there in the evening to feed them and they get overjoyed seeing me walk over. They go crazy for this food! Granted, they are goldfish so they will eat anything, but the food seems legit and the fish seem very healthy.

Dye free!
I have about 10 goldfish living in a 50 gallon tub with at 12 year old Yellow Bellied Slider. I had been feeding the fish goldfish flakes. I tried a couple different types and though the fish (and the Turtle) ate any brand, all brands ended up leeching color into the water and it would be cloudy in a day or two despite my Fluval FX6 filter that is overkill on a tub this size. I asked Grok for a recommendation of a dye free goldfish food and found Hikari Saki. 3 days later and the water is still clear. Never going back to flakes.

Excellent food, but you may need to soak
This is, in my experience, a very good food. I have several goldfish of different varieties who have done well on it. They’ve grown well, and their color and overall health seem to be good. They also really like the food. The only issue I’ve run into is with my Ryukin, who regularly would exhibit buoyancy issues (floating to the top) after eating. I started soaking the food before feeding, and he’s doing better. I understand this may be an issue with all dry, pelleted goldfish foods.

Wonderful
My goldfish love and thrive on this stuff. Please forgive my dirty pond, i took the pics after I’d taken all the vegetation out so you could see them. When I got these guys they were pretty pale orange and small. Just some run of the mill “fancy” goldfish from the local outdoor pond builder store. I started feeding them this (solid gold on YouTube recommended it as a good budget option) and my fish turned the beautiful red orange you see in the picture (not as red as a “show” goldfish, but I think they’re as red as their genetics allow) and have grown leaps and bounds the last year. That big guy has always been the biggest, but when I got them all he was probably 4 inches generously to the tip of his tail. Now he’s easily 8 (body probably 6) in just a year and a half (and that’s including several months in the winter when it was too cold to feed them). I love this food and will continue feeding it as long as I still have goldfish.

My goldfish love this food.

Excellent product. My fancy goldfish loved it! Pellets weren’t too large for the fish and they cleaned them up every time they were fed.

El mejor alimento para peces de agua fría. Llevo años usándolo.

The product is good, my goldfishes loves it and no more bubbly excretions can be seen in the aquarium. They have became more active and when they want the food they goes mad for it splashing water and my oranda started spitting water out of the aquarium which seems great, also the food is a little hard to chew so it is a worthwhile watching them chew it and also you can hear the sound of food being crunched, my small catfish can’t gulp it as he/she is very small but it looks great watching him/her play football with the food. I highly recommend the food but I got the green packet of saki hikari instead of purple, so make sure to first know what you getting. The green one is for growth and under 15 days I can literally feel that my fishes are growing, except one of them who was becoming skinny as he was extremely active, but now he is of average figure. Make sure that your filter would be able to handle it as their appetite will increase very soon leading to more waste, do water changes based on that and I am not sure yet, whether the food is being disintegrated or not as Hikari claims. If you’ve liked my review make sure to hit the helpful button, I shared everything in my experience. Thank you
