HIGH POTENCY FINE PEPPER is a year-round formula for conures, lories, quakers, cockatiels, budgies (parakeets), lovebirds, doves and other small to medium birds.
USES:
CONVERSION TO HARRISON’S: All birds should start and remain on High Potency Formula for a period of at least 6 months.SPECIAL NEEDS:For birds that are molting, overweight, underweight, particularly active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from an illness or affected by liver or kidney disease.BREEDING BIRDS: Feed High Potency Formula to all breeding birds.WEANING BIRDS: Feed High Potency Formula for at least 6-9 months after weaning.
Converting your bird to Harrison’s
Consult with an avian veterinarian before any diet change and annually thereafter.Mix Harrison’s with your bird’s current diet and note acceptance.If your bird needs more time, taper amount given over four weeks, increasing Harrison’s by 25% each week (reducing other food by 25%) until you can safely remove the previous food altogether.If needed, scatter Harrison’snuggets over white paper or a mirror on the floor of the enclosure.

My bird loves these pellets and they are vet recommended. He likes the pepper one. I think it’s probably tastier. A healthy bird is a happy bird owner!

Arrived as expected in Great Shape as shipped with another product in one box
Always a great product. The shipping can be tricky and product less protected when purchased here on Amazon, it is produced in a softer bag that should always be encased in a outer package, NOT shipped solely in the manufacturing bag.It was originally offered at Dr. Harrison’s vet clinic when I first became a Avian family in 1997. Hard to find on a shelf now as few local vets have an Avian specialty.

Harrisons is the best
This is all my avian vet recommends for food. For years you could only get this through vets, so I am happy to see it being sold here, if only for convenience. I’ve been feeding my parrot this food for 20 years, and he’s a very healthy and happy big guy. Funnily enough, I get the smaller size Harrison’s pepper flavor sometimes and give it to him as a “treat,” which he loves. Parrots are so strange sometimes. lol

They need another size pellet
Fine is too small for my Conures and Mini Macaw, but the right size for a budgie or parakeet. Coarse is too big unless its a cockatoo or macaw. They really need something in between. Its a shame because I do like this brand of food. I will buy again when they come up with an in between size but for now were gonna stick with Roudybush.

Pretty good bird food
I have an African Grey parrot and I thought this might be too small for him to eat but he loved it in the end. My African Grey is a picky eater so I was skeptical. At first he snubbed his beak at this bird food so I had to make believe I was eating it. He tried it and liked it. I sprinkle some in his raw veggies to give him variety. This would be great for parakeets being small pellet size. I’d buy this again for my African Grey.

My lovebird loved the bigger size to her normal super fine harrisons. Not sure if she enjoyed the taste of pepper but she dug in and didn’t want to stop, so clearly good! An added bonus is she loved destroying the harrisons bags from the inside out.Northern Parrots ship fast and it came with their lovely magazine this time! They clear care about parrots and are very knowledgeable, I totally trust them to provide only the best for my best feathered friend.
