Powerful Pump With Glowing Red Light
I purchased this HITOP air pump to replace an older pump that was beginning to put out less air. This pump has proven to be a more than ample supplier of air to my 40 gallon aquarium. I’m powering two standard airstones for my underrated filter out of one air output and a standard airstone for the mid section of my undergravel filter plus a 6 inch wall of water airstone out of the second air output. I tried to photograph the wall of water airstone. The pump is powerful and is running all airstones well. In my opinion the pump runs fairly quietly. It’s easy to set up, just attach the tubing and turn the knot to the amount of air you want dispersed. Notice I have my pump well above the waterline of my aquarium. If you can’t do that you’ll need to use a backlog preventer which is provided along with some tubing and two round airstones. Elevating the pump over the tank is better. Oh, and the pump has a glowing red light.

Great pump
Awesome, powerful pump. It’s almost silent unless your really crank it up, I have two filters attached and could add an air stone and it would still push air. It’s a little big, but that doesn’t bother me. There is a light that can be kind of annoying if you have your tank in a bed room.

Super Quiet, Powerful Pump for the Money!
This pump has been in operation for 8 months now, and I’m very pleased with it. Produces far more air than I can use for my 30 gallon, 2 air outputs, adjustable air flow, and oh so quiet! I don’t even know it’s on. Really! No vibration, good shocks and makes basically no noise. All you will hear is your bubbling water. When I bought this I compared it with four other pumps bought at the same time on Amazon, a Hygger, a Whisper, a Hiraliy, and a Persuper. Only one approached the quietness of this pump, the Persuper. The Persuper looked cooler and had electronic controls, but it was considerably more expensive and didn’t have as precise a control over the air output. The Hygger advertised itself as the world’s quietest pump, but I can assure you it isn’t. Not terrible but definitely not as quiet as this one. The Hitop was the quietest pump and the best value by far. Personally I’m not crazy about how it looks, but that is just my preference. But I don’t buy an air pump for its looks. And some others will probably love it. It works great, in any case. At the time of purchase it was $22.89 minus a small coupon savings.

Great dual output air pump!
Plenty strong enough to power 2 medium size easy flow sponge filters from Aquarium Co Op in my 36 gallon bow front. I have the pump in a cabinet and it’s quiet, even on full output setting. I would buy again and recommend.UPDATE (8/2025) – just a year and one month into ownership and one side stopped working. Bought a replacement. Problem solved. Now with the new pump running I can tell how much weaker the old pump became. For $20 bucks it was well worth the money. I’d still recommend this pump and would buy another one when it’s time.

Amazing Air Pump
I’m currently using this air pump for two large sponges for my 55 gal tank. So far I’ve had only good experiences with this pump. It hasn’t crashed on me or stopped randomly, it’s super silent and I barely notice it, and the air pressure that comes out and is strong. For the price it’s at, it does better than some other larger named brands for air pumps. Will definitely buy more of these pumps for my larger tanks.

Edited to add an update – purchased the pump July 2022, this edit is being added Dec. 21 2025. The pump is still going strong, has been in use since I purchased it & it is still supplying air to my 20g tall & my 10g tanks. Have had ZERO issues with it & it is still as quiet as it was on day 1. I HIGHLY recommend it & would buy it again in a heartbeat.I bought this to replace a very, very loud air pump, which made this very annoying & loud humming sound. This new pump is not only significantly smaller but it’s also practically silent. Like my old pump, it’s hooked up to two sponge filters, one in my 20g tank & the other in my 10g. Not only is it practically silent but it’s also very powerful. An added feature I like is that it has a small orange light at the back by the dial that shows it’s powered up. Can’t comment on it’s longevity YET as I’ve only had it running a month & a half but, so far I am very happy with it

Sets up in minutes. Just make sure you don’t install in your tank. The unit stays outside the tank, and the attachments go inside. Also, measure how much tube you need before you cut.
