Princess Paws Allows Human Peasant to Touch His Toes
These clippers are great! Very sharp for my large dog’s thick nails. The light helps a little, but honestly I have learned to hold his feet like a horse and clip from underneath, so I don’t really use the light anymore. It did give me peace of mind as I learned where his kwik was. You can see the kwik much easier that way (especially if you clip until you start to see the black dot). I used to take my dog to Petsmart every month for a $20 nail trim. With my old clippers, or grinder, he would never hold still or let me touch his toes (what a princess!). So after watching a video on how to trim nails, I noticed I needed a different type of trimmer. These fit the bill! Now, he lets me hold his feet (yes he still squirms, but we go slow, 1-2 nails at a time then a break and praise) and I can clip his nails, all 4 paws, in about 10 minutes. He doesn’t hurt, he stays relatively still, and these babies work hard. I’m not sure how sharp they will stay in the long run, but after 3 months of consistent use (trims about every week or two) I will gladly buy more of these as my pair dulls to save my time dragging him to a groomer. If my wimpy dog who would never let me touch his feet before lets me now AND lets me trim his nails, you have nothing to lose. Buy them. Look up a video, hold your dog’s foot behind him like a horse, and trim away. Save yourself some money on grooming, and buy your pup those treats instead (you know you’re going to spend the money you save on him/her anyway).

Cuts trim time down
I love these nail trimmers! I’ve tried several brands before, but the built-in light on this one is a total game changer. My dog gets nervous during nail trims, so I have to work quickly but carefully — the light helps me see exactly where to cut, which keeps both of us calmer. The handle is comfortable, even after doing all four paws, and I like that it has a safety guard to help prevent cutting too short. The blades are sharp and give a clean, smooth trim every time. The little file stored inside is super handy for touching up edges. Honestly, it feels like a professional grooming tool but at a much better price.

They are nice and sharp. The light does not let you see the nail unless the dog has very light colored nails. The light is helpful to see better though. I do like the guard on it to help from getting too close and not hurting them.

Really worked well on my rescue dog, whose claws were absolutely too long. She was a bit sqirmy, but the clippers were sharp enough to do the job quickly. Afterwards, she actually seemed more comfortable and even a little grateful! I was afraid my 71-yo grip strength would be challenged, but I had no problem.

The actual cutting part works very well. The blades are sharp and makes an easy cut on thick nails. The one problem I had was my puppies nails are dark, the led light does not show the veins so its not great for black nails. other than that, I was very pleased with this product. Perfect for dogs with lighter nails.

Absolutely terrific. I have avoided trimming my two dogs by myself for years. Swore to myself to never rescue another dog with black nails. Ever. But you know how adoptions just happen anyways. The vets started charging ridiculous fees. Groomers too.The design of these is a game changer. The back stop, metal guard ensures no accidental deep cut if my dog jerks away plus I don’t even have to think about cutting too short. Though my dogs nails aren’t see through the light makes me see what is going on. No peering and having to struggle to see. The blades are sharp enough to — chunk — cut with one firm squeeze of the ergonomic handles. I am no longer dodging doing nails. Yippee!P.S. my dogs are 80 and 45# so their nails are thick.

My cat is feisty and trimming her claws is like wrestling flailing razor blades. The scissors design of these is so much easier than the pliers style I had before. They’re lovely and sharp and quickly, cleanly and easily snipped the ends off her claws.

These are quite strong clippers and we have a Anatolian Sheppard who has quit hard nails. These cutters have no problem, but require some strength to use. Because each dog has different nails these clippers might be hard to use if person has weak hands and dog has hard nails. Although I don’t know clippers that would be easier.
