Clean, Natural, and Comfortable Bedding for My Flock
I’ve tried different types of bedding for both my chickens and small pets over the years, and this pine shavings pack really stands out for its quality. The shavings are clean, dry, and have that fresh pine scent that helps keep the coop smelling pleasant without being overpowering. It feels like a natural, healthy option compared to some of the dustier or chemically treated alternatives I’ve run into before.What I appreciate most is how absorbent these shavings are. In my chicken coop, they help control moisture and odor, which makes my cleaning routine so much easier. My hens seem perfectly comfortable scratching and nesting in them, and I’ve noticed they stay fluffier longer before compacting down.I also tested some in my guinea pig enclosure, and the difference was noticeable right away—the bedding stayed drier, and there was much less odor between cage cleanings. smh – what size coop are they going too use this in. great for a small animal, like a rabbit or gerbille cage not enough product for 1 chicken let alone for a coop

Good quality shavings.
First off, this was only 1 lb of pine shavings so I’m trying not to be too critical of the amount. I got this to try in my daughter’s rabbit hutch. It was the perfect amount for the 16″x30″ hutch to give the rabbit a 2″ amount of material. The pine shavings are a good quality. So that would earn a 5 star rating.However, in the semi rural community I live in there are farm supply stores that sell much larger, compressed bales (5.5 cubic feet of material) of shavings for about half the price. So for a volume to cost basis I’d give it 1 star, averaging to a 3 star overall.
