Smell and Texture
Has a really nice smell. Even though I didn’t buy it for smell it is a big plus! Not too strong and subtle. Wanted to add different textures for my hammie. My hamster enjoys it and that is most important. This is a good addition for your bedding, it is not meant to fill the whole cage.

Sukh Small Animal Pet Bedding – Natural Bedding Hamster BeddingThis bedding comes vacuum sealed which is great so it’s fresh when you get it and open it. Colorful and a nice unique texture from most standard bedding. It does have an aroma to it though which is flowery smelling. I got this for my pet rat that ended up becoming a pet due to not being able to be for his original purpose. He doesn’t seem to like it all, he would normally go in his little house and dig at it and make a bed with normal pine bedding but with this he is avoiding even touching it. He is getting on his shelves and on top of his house and just sits there. I will have to change it out and go back to normal bedding I think due to this. Other small pets may like it but my big guy does not.

A miss for me
This product came just as described and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, our white dwarf hamsters were not a fan. We thought maybe they would at least eat the flowers, but this did not happen either. This makes a no from three little pets with radically different personalities and taste palates. We will not be reordering. Sorry!

Something new and different for my girl…
Since my ham already has Aspen chips, Aspen shavings, coco chips, coco fiber, corn cob bedding, cork granules, dessert sand, and Niteangel’s “purple label” toilet sand in her enclosure/dig boxes, I was looking for something new to add in. I’ve never seen buckwheat hulls offered as a substrate for hamsters, so when I stumbled upon this I was very intrigued. After checking that they were safe, I knew I had to try them out.I don’t recommend using them for bedding however, since they don’t hold a burrow. It would also require many many many bags to fill a proper sized enclosure. As for a dig box though, the amount is perfect.

This comes with lavender, which is toxic for hamsters (I found out after a quick google search). It can cause respiratory issues due to the strong scent and if ingested, can lead to serious digestive problems (diarrhea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal problems). I should’ve done my research before purchasing. Please don’t make the same mistake as me!
